And you just know if things go pear shaped, Rossco will stick fat.

This is the dumbest saying ever. What does it even mean?

Freo fans will be up and about,  getting Hogan in for his first game and coming off an 80 point win.

Seriously...I'm a fossil but understand it.

I'll translate for you.

Even if things go adversely, if they go counter to hopeful expectations then that good chap Mr Lyon will stand by his fine recruit...irregardless ;)

Not quite true Wise. You've recently  hypothesized him coming back to us because 'he loves the club'. I'd wager that you would be in the top three count for posters in this thread. Sounds like a Hogan man-crush to me!

Jesse Croadgan!

Most sayings have some origin in a historical context. We'll "stick fat" with player X is out and out nonsence with no relevance to anything

Who is going to kick the 40+ goals he kicked for us  last year? It sure won't be the Weid or Tmac.

Why OD Both are not in the groove but 5 goals from them at the Cattery might get us over the line !

Hsve Faith OD (not blind)

Dees on the improveand can't wait at the Cattery  for our improvement.

Hogan yet to score a goal. He is not the player we thought he was. Would he make a difference this season, i suggest not.He has also received a fine for a unprofessional bump against saints.

Wouldn’t get too cocky - he’s been playing a midfield type role and  had 21 and 16 possessions- puts some of our players to shame.

You might be a little premature, what was that his first or second game. A talent that produces 50 goals in a season does not vanish. Right now I would swap him for May in a heart beat.

One thing about Hogan is that he has X factor and is hard to defend against. He would have made something (maybe not much, but better than nothing) out of our lousy forward entries. But that's not why he was let go.

Freo did play their best game without him against North. Kicked their highest score in years. With him lost against GC and barely scraped in at fortress Optus against the Saints. Not convinced and still has a lot to prove.

I said right now! May is weeks off returning and then he has to develop. Best from him won't be till next year with a proper pre season behind him.

Not sure about that OD. This bloke can play and when he gets back in I'm confident you and the others will be very happy with his contribution. May 80% fit is a better option than what we have at moment and he will show us all why we got him and KK for Hogan.

KK was steak knives in the May deal.... third round pick if not fourth

Sadly I think that is accurate.

80% will not get you on the field in 2019. Still think he will struggle this year like the team in general. No team has ever come back from bottom after three games to make a GF let alone win one. Think 2020.

Have said it elsewhere...but am concerned that soft tissues might be an ongoing problem with him now. Hope not.

Also even when May.  Or Lever get back on the paddock.   They'll not be cherry ripe or at 100% effectiveness.

We've got some distasteful pain ahead...again

MFC....the Groundhog Club !!

One might say we have perfected that one BB, top of the ladder.

I still rate Jesse, and honestly believe we would have won the Port and Essendon games if we had him up forward.

May and KK may end up being a better package, but as of the end of round 3 the fact is that the subtraction of Jesse and addition of May and KK has not improved our team.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
