Crickey, are we there yet?

silence from all the sources that would matter.  Will the Bluey cause player or club to reveal their hand?

If you ask Hawthorn fans they'll tell you Buddy used to go missing in the big games too. He hasn't been great for Sydney either. Serviceable at times but not great.

We have only played 4 big games in 10 years. Buddy has been more than serviceable.

Has the trade been done yet,so I can move  on with my life?

@Mach5, if there is no news re your earlier post - I’ll hunt you down.

We should be asking for a first rounder and Ed Langdon at a minimum.

Generational key forwards don't grow on trees.

If a Fremantle player comes into the equation (other than Cerra or Andy Brayshaw) I wouldn’t be interested in Ed Langin, I’d be asking after Brad Hill. He’d be very handy on a wing for the Dees, won their B&F in 2017, triple premiership player and still only 25yo.

There were rumours during the year too that Hill isn’t entirely happy playing ‘Ross Lyon footy’.

I'd be amazed. This isn't acrimonious in any way. Surely he'll be there

Be my guest. Clearly someone in one of the other threads has heard similar.

He's always seemed a little nervy in front of a camera... You know he's gonna be swarmed by them...

Would prefer Pedersen, Smith is one of the worst kicks for goal i have seen, he kicked 12 goals, 26 behinds for Casey this year, Pedo kicked 32 goals, 8 behinds.

I completely agree. I was astounded hearing that stat add he line up a set shot in the GF

Unsurprisingly he missed it!

Would've been nice to keep Pedo as an emergency backup for  Full Forward for next year. He'd have been fine for 1 more year and for that position (FF)

Since being at Sydney he's kicked 350 goals, been their leading goalkicker every year, won the Colman twice and been All Australian 4  times... Wish we had a few more serviceable players!!

How many Premierships since moving ?

And some idiot had a go at me about Hogan not being a Freo fan and there is a photo of him as a kid wearing their scarf. I knew I was right.

That was when they were in a grand final a few years ago, pretty sure it was the year he was at Casey and since then it's been brought up each year

He was a Crows supporter...

That pick is him showing support for Freo during the 2013 Granny.

He was 18 & playing with us when he posted that.

Who was it? Were they actually an idiot?

Well. You wear the scarf, then you are a supporter. I would not wear another team’s scarf.

Maybe Freo are Hogan’s second team. Some people have a second team.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
