There is a reason I (and many others) would be happy for Bernie to remain at the club in a coaching role or runner or even as captain at Casey, not sure where, but I would be very happy to have Bernie remain a Demon

He seems to have a lot of love and respect from the playing group.

about time there was a foxtel equivalent for newspapers... don't mind paying but the idea of paying a sub for each (used to love occasionally browsing the NYT for example) means that one naturally gravitates toward the free on line portals such as The Guardian

Bernie deserves a life membership. Came to us at our lowest and helped drag us up by our own bootlaces.

I thought you automatically qualified if you got to 100 games. In my mind it’s no coincidence that he will finish on exactly 100.

A nice read.  It's a pity we tend to get this kind of info about a player only when they get close to the end of their career.  Was nice to hear about how the whole Vince clan has embedded themselves into the fabric of the Club.  I was a little puzzled to read that, though, assuming they still lived somewhere in rural SA.  Does anyone know if they have moved to Melb?  Or, do they make the trek to Melb on a regular basis?

As others have said, just hope Bernie sticks around the Club beyond this year in some capacity.

(I'd also like to see the fairy tale of Bernie making it back for at least one Casey Final -- and preferably two, and playing well enough to demand a call up into the AFL Grand Final.  How stoked would he be to lift the Cup aloft along side his old mate and mentor Goody?!)

Dont mean to bring a negative vibe to all this positivity. But honestly Id rather the players just keep all this stuff to themselves until the finals are finished. feel like we're leaking a bit...spirt of Bernie, spirit of Jimmy,  the brotherhood,  etc etc. Maybe its just me but if this kind of stuff was coming out of Geelong, so far out form the game,  I reckon id be smiling as it may well be playing into our hands. Feels like we're going too early.

Lets save this kind of stuff to after the GF when we're explaining how we did it. Until then.. "We're proud tp be here but geelong are a great side, we know what we're facing etc etc etc.

I think they are thinking a bit further ahead than us...now this is what I call going early.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
