Know that the selectors have not acknowledged a "Stellar" year! and have no idea! What a player!

When is the AA team actually announced?

And you're right, if Oliver doesnt make it there will be riots.   Sadly I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it as its the same idiot selectors who failed to even put him in the squad of 40 last season.

…be a bit miffed for a moment but then remind myself that I get to watch him play next week so it doesn't matter.

Roll my eyes as media favorites who had inferior seasons are selected ahead of him.

Then return to my daily hunt to find Matthew Nicholls and end his existence.

Still flies under the radar for opposition supporters    They all know big Max   but no idea of Clayton Oliver.

Will be  No 1 in the league next year    Go Dees !!

.......................Not give a damn.

I don't need a board of selectors to tell me if he is in the best 22 players' in the league or not.

I know he is, and he plays for us...................that's all i need to know.

.... remind myself that the AA selectors will, whenever there is a toss-up between several players for the same position, reward the "big" club with selection.

Oliver is so far ahead of the competition it doesnt matter.

Thread topic, sounds a bit presumptuous, conspiratorial and cynical... he will be in.

my essendon 'mate' hates him. reckons he's super over-rated and just racks up the possies with rubbish handballs. says that his kicking leaves a lot to be desired. i just laugh. i've about given up sending him highlights packages of him. just keep asking him how parish is going. LOL.

While I get this line of thinking, it's not about you or me. The bloke should get the credit he deserves, and he deserves an All Australian jumper to tell his grandkids about. The first of many I'm sure, and will sit nicely besides a few B&Fs, a couple of premierships and a Brownlow.

You don't think you might be just a little biased?

Announced tonight. Live coverage on the AFL website from 2030

Should have made it last year as well. He would be stiff to get overlooked considering he is a young player who has backed up consecutive years of AA level football. Simply has to get a gig.

Both Clarry and Maximus absolutely have to make it.

Many football experts have him on the pine with 'more deserving' mids starting.  Fair enough.

But if you were picking a side to play for your life, you would have him starting on the wing instead of Gaff/McCrae, because he matches them outside, AND trumps them inside AND going forward too.

These footy experts can't think beyond their nose.

Won’t make it. The excuse will be that he’ll be in the next 10.

judging by these picks, they're in...

I can see why Gawn might as he has been the stand out Ruckman this year but why Clarry?

yes he has had a good year for us but in the position he plays there are a large number of very good players.

It is like the Mid fielders award there are some very good players scoring votes every week.

Pretty sure the whole squad of 40 would be there, even the interstaters.

Why the silly nickname Clarry "Choo Choo"?

Cos Picket is on drugs.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
