All those who carped about Melbourne not beating top 8 eight sides can now officially GAGF.  We are worthy finalists and will do some damage. Bye bye cats next week.

Also all the Jones haters can GAGF - top game from the Captain.

What happened to Tyson?

Gawn kicked the ball of the ground and collected some part his arm (close to his wrist I think). Think it’s a fracture of some sort.

Harmes did an outstanding job on Kelly.

Harmes was fantastic. Smashed Kelly and collected 29 disposals and a goal himself (Kelly with 19 touches).

Just think. We are a St Kilda debacle away from third.

On the other hand, 3 of the 4 teams that smashed us are in the four so perhaps were are where we deserve to be.

We learnt from 2017 that percentage counts and to score as much as possible and deny them easy goals.

Today we learnt that to be a top team, we cannot concede losses to inferior teams.

We took the game on with nothing to lose.

Thats when we play at our best. Quick, clean, aggressive footy.

Loved it.

Bring on the Cats!

Hey we beat a top 8 team too!

BT on seven said that we have the second highest % which is the first time since 1964 we have achieved this

We all know what happened in 1964.

Go u MIGHTY DEMONS.

Harmes is seriously good. Has had a great month of football. Very damaging player. Pops up at the right times. Everything we need leading into finals. Also, we play 110% without Hogan in the side. If we hold onto Jesse I hope we play him in defense next year. We look a far better side without him in the forward line.

GWS looked like they didn’t want to play us again in the finals with some of their efforts in the 3rd qtr.

Terrible for Tyson and Kent...   Tyson still might get up for the final but Kent is done... the bloke can not take a  trick.

YOU [censored] BEAUTY BOYS YEWWW!!!

Drnkn didn’t you used to support the pussycats?? Before Dec the Dee.

We are the form side going into the finals.  Last 8 games:

  • Freo +54pts
  • WBD +50pts
  • Geel -2pts
  • Adel +13pts
  • GCS +96pts
  • Syd -9pts
  • Eagles +17 pts
  • GWS + 45pts

Thrashed the teams we should have.

Played 4 of the finalists.  Won 2.  Lost only 2 by a total of less than 2 goals.

Bl...dy good form!

Can damage?

On ourday we can match it with anyone, what a great all round team effort!

The Lord intervened.

Lets not forget we played in hot conditions last week and came back from Perth and still WON.

GO DEES

Salem is mint. Most underated player in our side.

Roosy summed it best during the week when he compared him to Jarrad McVeigh in his prime.  He can be a general across half back for us for years to come.

Triple M just reported that players sent coaches and staff out of the meeting room.  Suspect some sort of pact was being hatched!

Players are really owning this - absolutely beautiful!

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
