Might be handy on the bench.

Bit of an understatement? Was one of Hawthorns most instrumental outside running link up mids in their 3peat, arguably as damaging and momentum shifting as Rioli was.  Won b&f in his first year at Freo, traded for a pick 23. A player of proven high quality, same age bracket as Gaff. An ideal replacement if Gaff choses North

He's wortha second round pick or higher. Would trade Freo Garlett and a 2019 first round pick for their 2018 2nd and Hill. We're talking 14-18 for 22-24 i believe.

Is Bradley a relation by any chance?  :)

Certainly worth a few phone calls

I wonder if any others want out at the Shockers?

Worth a call but no need to trade next years first round and Garlett. I don’t care that we’d receive a second round pick back.

Freo could be interested in Kent but I’d much rather keep him. Maybe a second round pick by itself could get it done.

Now that we’re a destination club, we don’t need to give up anyone or anything of value to lure required players from less competitive clubs.

How do I know this?

I’ve obsrved it for years. For 12 years to be exact.

Fair enough. I just wouldn't think they'd accept a second round pick or a collection of fringe players. I thought perhaps another goal sneak named Jeff might tempt them again

Dare I say it, but those in the trade Hogan camp (not I) could be emboldened by the temptation of Hill & a first round pick for Hogan.

It's a passive approach though and risks not addressing an immediate hole. I hope you're right though.

Why wouldn’t he just go back to Hawthorn? Or just ask for a trade to West Coast if he hates being at the Dockers so much, seeing as it was a “go home” trade only a year ago.

I’m with Ross - seems a rumour pretty unlikely to be true.

just as a sidebar...im not really inclined to believe anything from Ross :)  He's probably shocked his side are shizen too ( we're not though )

If Lever was worth 2 first rounders. An injury prone Hill and a first rounder would be massive unders IMO

Brad Hill for ??? We can’t really offer anything. Perhaps

Hill and Ffc pick 55 for

Kent & MFC pick 30

but I’m stretching here. I actually think Kent will show his ability over the next 3-6 weeks.

Kent has an opportunity over the next (hopefully) 5 weeks to cement his place; alternatively to cement his boots.

Over to you, Dean.

I think we can’t trade our future first round pick because we’ve done it twice since future pick trading started.

Doubt we could trade Garlett interstate. No way Garlett leaves his son behind. I reckon he’d retire before that. But who knows!

Good footballer, but doubt he'd leave WA. He moved home to be with family and to play with his brother. He also left a successful team to move home and play for a sh*t team. He would be mental to ditch his family not long after!

Reminder to all on here again that we have no first round pick this year and are not allowed to trade next years first round pick. I'm sick of seeing trade suggestions with first round picks mentioned. Unless we trade Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw or Hogan, then forget about it!

Would be worth a pick between 20 and 30 but surprised if this happens.

Hell no soft as butter. Could only get a kick at a beast of a team like Hawthorn shown up at Freo. We will get Gaff don't need anyone else.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
