Forget Gawn , Oliver , Hogan, and Oscar. Our most important player today is Frost.. if he holds Franklin to less than 3, we win

Only if he tasked that ;)

Goody will have to redefine his defensive strategy to gorilla mind ...ie man a man. Can't allow buddy ANY space ;)

Completely relaxed.

Sydney are rubbish.  If we can't beat them and beat them comfortably then we don't deserve to play finals.

Naturally, I'll take a one point win, but I expect a 30+ point victory.

Well today’s the day. Biggest moment since Rd 23 last year. You can either take the opportunity presented to you or spend a long time wondering what could have been. Are our boys up for the challenge? Are they ready to announce themselves as a bonafide finals contender? Only time can tell.

Starts in the middle today. Not the Buddy matchup, not the forward pressure although these things are important. We HAVE to win contested ball and go hard from the get go.

As for pre game pubs I’ll be at the Sporting Globe today getting in on some Buffalo wings and beer!

Speaking to a fellow Dee over a Parma last night ( a Parma for a farmer of course and I highly recommend others support our land folk also.. find a venue donating in this cause )

....that I can't see it being that close. 5-6 goals either way. Who ever cracks...will split open.

Hearing whispers of a late OUT! Hope if true its not Gawn!

Forget Gawn Oliver.

Stunning three word analysis.

I'll be sanding my back deck this morning.  You could come over and do that for me if you want to pass some time.

Hopefully it becomes an analogy for this afternoon - 'grinding the Swanies into the ground!'

Tip: be carefull when sanding not to remove any of the protective coatings on the screws or nails or your gonna get rust.

I share your sentiments.

I also feel strangely confident that Frost will contain Franklin.

Excited about this one however stuck in hospital awaiting  MRI results to see if back surgery is required. Might be out for this game if I am I'll be having demon dreams of tommy mac and jessie combing for 14 goals and us winning by 67 points

Great news...no surgery, well at least not for today. Means to get to see our boys get up!!

Super excited to see hunt back, if he gets up and going he will make is a much better side.

It's not the containing im worried about, it's the run out of defence and turnover that ends up coming straight back over his head! ?

Odds are now $1.36. Punters think we will get it done.

$1.34 on Sportsbet now, still $1.40 on TAB.

If we keep coming in like this, it means either that Gawn is a definite starter, or that one of the Swans better players is in doubt, potentially a combination of the two.

Right up until rd 23. I called the club last week to confirm.

I think I am out. I don’t want the tv on, all mobile devices to aeroplane mode, radio off. Will record game and hope to god we win.

Also may not be able to help myself. 12 Long Years. The world has seen a black president. The rise and fall of IS, britex, gay marriage, China’s rise to economic powerhouse: the list goes on. I even think John Farnham did a last ever tour!

Maybe just maybe, it will conclude today with

Dees fire up and sizzle the Swans, finals bound!

This - 1000 times this.

I can't go (Mrs Frankie's father has his 87th birthday...), and I don't know if I'll be brave enough to sneak a peek at the scores.

My MFCSS is firmly in-charge - I worry that this will be St. Kilda Mark II. Beaten in the mid-field, then sliced  open. 23 points down and half time, and never really  in it. That's what happens to you when you saw the last flag this team won, and have been belted up ever since.

Go Dees - make me a believer.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
