This was flagged earlier in the week by a poster.  Can’t remember who it was.  From memory they said it was only a minor tweak.  Hopefully it’ll only be a couple of weeks as opposed to 4...

There is a positive, my hamstrings are ok at the moment.

It’s not this week that hurts so much but next. Usually hammies aren’t a one weeker so it may go to two, then it’s a flight to WA which isn’t great for them either. Unless it’s the tinniest hammy ever I think he misses a few.

He played out the game so it can't be that serious.

The cynical part of me thinks that that we are coming up with an excuse for resting him without appearing to be complacent against a weak side.

I strained my hammy earlier this year and missed 2 weeks,. If you do everything right in terms of rehab and conditioning then you can make it back in 2 weeks instead of your usual 3-4..

My biggest issue is why did they send him out again when they knew he strained earlier on...?‍♂️

Our medical team annoys me..

We have been told all year that if they have the slightest niggle, they go to the rehab group. Funny how that continually proves to be an untrue piece of information.

It's difficult to go into rehab in the middle of a match which if we lost it would likely mean we miss the 8.  A judgement might have been made that what you have been told all year (really?) is out of date.

Dangerfield missed 2 weeks (the week after JLT and round 1 this year) with a very minor strain so I''m using that as a guide. So he'll surely miss the crucial Sydney game which is a pity.

Unless Smiley Misson is bull crapping about it only being 'minor', expect him back for round 22 V's WCE.

So lets risk a player injury to try and make finals?

No thanks! We tried that with Jack Viney and it backfired terribly. Hes lucky he didn't tear his hamstring!

Should have put him on ice when they first alerted the problem.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
