The G has not been our friend this year. :P

Last Time we were at the G, we won…and that was with Frost, Spargo, Garlett, and Hannan in the side.

That's a much more Richmond-esque amount of pace and it really helped us. As long as we select properly, the MCG won't be a negative for us any longer IMO.

I don't mind Sunday.  We can manipulate a loss if it suits us.

Cue the tanking investigation if we did, especially if we went on to win the premiership.

I could see the AFL taking a flag off us for such a move.

Hahahah and they still manage to give Carlton a night game (Saturday). Unbeleivable!

PS Very happy with our Sunday PM times slot just FYI.

Carlton game should be under the darkness at MARS stadium

4pm sunday game seems totally out of character? It's always been etihad 1pm, 3:20 sunday game no? I think the AFL [censored] are giving a team one last crack at us if we somehow are hinging on the result.

Happy with the timeslot, scared about the possible Sunday night heartbreak. Makes Monday that little bit harder.

In that scenario, all you have to do is drink a skinfull of alcohol Sunday night and call in sick on Monday.

I'm dreading that St Kilda v North game. Hopefully we have it stitched up by then. If we have to rely on St Kilda to beat or keep North's percentage down then St. Kilda would have screwed us twice in one year. *

* Yeah I know it will have been self inflicted but I have to blame someone.

At the beginning of the season we had  a game plan with three talls, which works really well at the docklands, it does not work well at the MCG. You need totally different game plans at both grounds, Jennings is paid good money how he  and the coaches can't work this out is beyond me.

It makes no sense for Carlton-Adelaide to play any time other than Sunday. Neither is finals bound so recovery time is irrelevant.

And we end up with a crowd-killing mid-afternoon Sunday time slot just to limit our take at the gate one more time.

Melbourne-GWS makes at least as much sense as Port-Essendon for Friday in a football sense. The Bummers could well be grounded by then.

Recovery time from the Perth trip is more important to us, than before a final, if we make it, as there is a bye before the first round of the finals, so Saturday game or Sunday game in the last round is irrelevant with regards to finals

Good idea but it would be nice to keep a few sick day bullets In the chamber for September ?

If we are finals bound on that Sunday against GW$, there will be a decent crowd at the ‘G

Late Sunday is perfect for us

Yeah...I had the brain in neutral there. Forgot about the bye.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
