I think people are underestimating Hibbo's season.

Not as outstanding as last year - but in m opinion still very good.

Big games from Vince and Lewis needed. Might also see Salem play deeper?

Wager is the like replacement but Smith if we want to cover defensively could be the option.

Yes, probably best you don’t mention Gawn or Oliver ?

Let the record show that Nash said this not me ?

We are getting to the point where players are asked to replace those they just can’t replace.

Our best mid and now our top 2 defenders...

The passage way to September is getting narrower.

Is Hibberd irreplaceable? He’s a good player, but I don’t see this one hurting anywhere near as much as losing Viney or Lever.

I think you underestimate the run and drive he creates out of defence. He is a big loss especially when compounded with the losses of Viney and Lever.

I reckon we should start Fristch on HB.  we need some run and class back there now. he looked comfortable down there

Waggers and Tyson in for Hibbo and Hannan

It’s probably a controversial opinion but I reckon his ball use when at full tilt (ie creating run and drive) is often sub-par. I’ve seen him kick it directly to the opposition as often as not. I honestly think Smith or Wagner can cover that aspect of his play.

It’s his contested work and support for his teammates in the back half that I think we will miss.

Bummed about the injury! Oh well...

I would play Bayley Fritsch in Hibbos spot... Fritsch is a Star!

VDB to come in and play half-forward.

Wagner is the other obvious choice with Smith...

I am definitely more comfortable with #31 down back though! His beautiful raking left boot out defence is a must...

You beat me too Bayley HBF good kicking skills rotating with Salem, need to bring in a defensive backmen too play 3rd tall either Smith or Pedo.

Rubbish.  Hibbo is a decent loss, but we have players who can come in and play a role for us.  Time for a few to stand up.

 We will survive.

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without Viney, Lever and Hibberd in our side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how the dees have done me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along

And so when you're back
You can thank Omac
For making the finals and removing that sad look upon your face

Because finishing 9th would have been such bad disgrace

Did you think the dees would lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, we will survive

Hey, hey

Thinking you might be right, time to get creative, everyway must lift.

The one aspect of his game that may be hard to replace is metres gained - he averages 402m gained a game, second only to Gus.  We will need a few players to step up together to cover for this run off half back.

The thing about the possible selection of Wagner, is that he is hardly setting the world on fire in the twos.

Hmm. Maybe I am underestimating his drive.

Oh well, we’ll see how we go.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
