Gee I wish I was in Darwin to get some warm weather. Would feel more confident if this game was at the G.

I wouldn't.  We suck there and they beat us there last season.

I did during the week. I think we're a 50 50 proposition. $6 against MFC is insane

Its tempting but then I'll enjoy the game less if we win. The alternative might be to not watch live and only watch replay if we win.

Nice people but worst Football team I ever played against

Nah Mums tougher (Hi Dad? (he gets on here a bit))!

bloody cold in winter, so the olds are thawing out in Darwin for a long weekend ?

Players up in Darwin must be watching the Casey game thinking "thank Christ I wasn't dropped this week". Polar opposite conditions.

That’s just silly, we’d need 113,361 inside 50 entries.

Most likely not gonna get to watch this one to my annoyance. Come on Dees.

I will miss the bulk of the game. My wife has organised dinner out with an old friend of hers (who, frankly I don't really like ) How can wives be so thoughtless ? My next wife might be better on that score.

I'm strongly considering not watching this game. Please convince me to switch it on.

I’m currently hydrating on VB and will

head off to the ground soon. There will likely  be a pub stop on route. It’s rather hot atm

Im pumped over this game. I’ve followed Melbourne to Sydney, Canberra and Darwin previously and never seen a win

I’ll break the ice tonight

Sadly the maid remained at The Manor so my celebrations will probably be a solitary affair - still they can be quite enjoyable

Eat some “off” food immediately

Better to be home in the smallest room watching a feed than being with the wife’s friend

I'm taking care of the manor for you ( the maid let me in).

Some of your cellar needs updating so I'm helping to clear out the old stock.

Also, the maids outfit is a little bit formal for my liking so I've bought over a French frilly number for her .

Please don't barrack too loudly-you'll mozz the team as you tend to do when interstate.

Don't hurry back-just send her wages through plus some extra house keeping money.

I'll keep her busy .

How in the front doors are the Dees $1.12 to win this match? Similar odds to last week...the books are usually very switched but this one has me stumped.

Do yourselves a favour and put $50 on the purples...be happy either way...

You’re just being vindictive and trying to spoil my well earned break

”The Lads” would never allow one of your status admission to the hallowed Manor

The lads are roasting up nicely. Unfortunately someone bumped into the Merc whilst I was putting some essentials on your account at the grocer.

Freo's odds have ballooned out to $7. Ridiculous.

The last time Melbourne's opponent had odds of $7 was Round 23 last year. I think we all remember what happened then!!

Even though I'm from the Macedon ranges I'm always shocked when I visit mum in malmsbury and it's inevitably cold.

Very very cold

I shall end my perilous outback odyssey in Darwin this afternoon and make a grand entrance at the football this evening

Inn Katherine Bitter's, uncle?

I have never gambled on footy, but it is seriously tempting to throw a few dollars at the Dockers.

We should win, but we should have won several times lately.

Thats how they make there money.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
