Met him on a holiday last year when they were chasing JWatts before they picked him up. Very approachable, likeable bloke.

Well done Trenners we my Family are so over the moon for you.and to still be on the journey as an AFL footballer is a testament to you. I am hoping not only you have a fantastic game but string many games together and to be the turning point of your  career. Proud of you as l know that many others are as well. You will give it your all  as you did for our great club.  May all go well for you Trenners.

.

Good luck to him. If anyone deserves some luck from the football gods it's him.

Gonna claim ignorance on this. I thought he’d already played this year!

All the best Jack!

Bloody awesome news.

Well done Trenners u are one determined bugger.

Good luck.

Imagine he cemented a spot and went on to win a flag with Port this year. One of the most unlikely footy careers. Good luck Jack.  Apologies for keeping that flag from you.

Hope he finds a role at Port that he can find a bit of longevity in. As has been demonstrated this year, we severely lack speed out of the backline and Trenners has lost more than a yard since he shagged his foot up. He was never going to cement with the role we have him.

Considering the opposition, this is a great chance for him to find some touch and to get some momentum for the rest of the year.

I was spewing initially when I heard we might be trading him to Richmond as he was a bloke I wanted justice done to. Hopefully this is his chance to get a good 2 to 3 seasons under his belt and end his career on a great note.

Brain 'em Jack!

Very happy for Jack. I sincerely hope he can capture some of the form he displayed in his early Melbourne days

All the very best mate.

Ive been told by one of our players partners that quite a few of his former Dees team mates will be at the game supporting Jack.

Nice touch by the boys. Shows how respected Jack was at our club.

Best of luck Jack, he deserves the best in life not only footy, good things come to those who wait, it's now his time for some luck.

Well how did he go? Anyone got the inside info?

BUMP!

Looks like Jack will get another year at Port.    http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-10-24/port-trio-set-for-lifelines-rookie-still-in-limbo

Rapt for him.  Of all people he deserves to keep his AFL dream alive.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
