so what do we need to get back into this.

Their bad kicking has left the door ajar ...outscore them by two goals for each of the remaining quarters and the game is ours.

Hogan is the key. Needs to dominate those forward thrusts.

Jones with 3 kicks and 13 handballs needs to get more value.

For all their dominance - more inside 50's, smashing us in the clearances and they're picking off our kicks forward more regularly than they should be - we're only 3 goals down.  Kind of hard to believe really.  Hogan and T Mac are not having any influence, Gus is well down on his last month of work and some of other mid tier players aren't standing up.

But we're well in the game.  When we have played well we've scored easily and made them look second rate.  We just haven't done it for long enough.

We need everyone to lift from here in the second half.  I think we can do it, but the first 10 minutes will tell us plenty.  We did this against them in the corresponding fixture last year, so no reason why we can't do it again.

Pressure. They are applying heaps.

Yeah they are but even when players have been out on their own with our players in the clear we have missed them badly.

Only good thing to come out of that 1st half is that were only 19pts down.

Getting slaughtered in the middle, we look so sluggish.

Wells is out of the game through injury as well which leaves them a man down on rotations.  Gives us a slight edge, hopefully, to run over the top of them in the second half.

They are clearly quicker than us. If you can’t beat them at the source or if you do but just hand it back they are going to do what they are. Time to get Gus into the middle, trac deep and Jones and Harmes to the outside.

nothing to do with our offence. its all our defence.  we're bloody slow and their transition is obvious. you can almsot pause the tv snd point out which 5 collingwood players will be involved in the scoring chain

We look tired and slow. They could have 3 down and I'm not sure it'd help. Chasing tail for the last hour also doesn't help.

Our midfield has been smashed for a few weeks running now. What’s going on? It has been since Viney came back...

Danger signs were there last week when the Bulldogs smashed us in this area.

Can you please do a really negative post for us, seems to help! ?

They’re killing us on the outside and with their quick hands

Our mid level players are nowhere to be seen at this stage and we lack the penetration i50 that we’ve had for the last six weeks

We will need a massive second half to turn it around

Clearances 24 them, 11 is. That’s where our problem starts

Blind Freddy can see how slow we are in the middle. Totally exposed at the moment.

And that’s the crux of it, we can lift so so much, I don’t think they can. But I can’t see us doing it, I can’t see us winning this. We have folded back to a lot of poor habits from earlier in the year. Over handballing, not trusting our teammate to win the contest so 3-4 rush in, they win it to their players standing 5 meters off the contest and waltz away.

Our pressure in our f50 is non existent. If we can lift that, it will help heaps, have we had repeat entries today?

Its def not over, but we are no where near playing well enough to win it.

They're much more proactive then we are. They're hedging ie. running forward of the ball in numbers before it even gets there. They're also preempting all our inside ball movement from stoppages, cutting off every handball. Thats going to require a lot of energy to maintain throughout the rest of the game.

Not enough 2nd and 3rd efforts from our mids currently like theirs are providing

They will hit us with everything for the next half a quarter. If we continue as we are, we will be blown off the park. If we pick up, and are within a goal at 3 qtr time we are a chance

Completely agree. Gawn dominating. Midfield pus the last two weeks.

Still in it. Viney and Jones need to drive this.

They only need to bog the game down for 15-20 minutes now and the game is theres

Just goes to show you that we really haven’t played anyone good the last 6 weeks. Finally we are playing against red hot opposition, and as has happened earlier in the year, we are looking miles behind them.

If we don’t win this game I think it will tell us a lot about where we are at as a team. Are we just making up numbers or are we actually good and a chance of challenging?
