He should be made to do the walk of shame while we throw rotten fruit and vegetables at him. I agree with the OP as well, ridiculously good-looking football players give me the [censored].

He is also the pr!ck that punctured Tim Smiths lungs with unnecessary knees to the back in a ‘marking contest’.

The commentary team love him, so he can do no wrong.

Personally I think he is discreetly dirty and is not the unbeatable player everyimakes him out to be.

He is a dog of a player, without doubt good decision making, his ability to read play and leave his man annoys the bejeezus out of me because it's good. But I am confounded by the love he gets from the media for all his dog acts. Even when Viney squared up to him he took a dive, right after being a dog. On 360 Lewis looked like he was biting his tongue, Jack has to back his team mate but Lewis was not into that segment. @Wells 11 Prance (love it) = Prancer

Rance is a deadset piece of sh*t of a bloke and possibly the most overrated footballer in my lifetime. He can't defend man on man, lays less than 2 tackles a game on average because he runs away from a contest, he drops uncontested chest marks, and is a complete dog.
His coward punch to Watts in the back of the head while he was laying prone and defenceless is one of the worst things I can remember seeing on the footy field. That disgusting act was straight up assault, and wouldn't be tolerated in civilised society, yet the commentators brushed it off saying "he's just frustrated" like that somehow excuses it!
He's now been fined twice for staging in the past 12 months, and continues to leap like Superman out of any contest he finds himself in because despite his Hollywood muscles he's weak as [censored] and can't wrestle his way out of a paper bag.

The love affair the media and commentators have with him is mind-blowing. I hope he cops more flack for diving again this week. His reputation deserves to be tarnished further and resemble the piece of sh*t he is.

Doesn't mind putting the knee in in the air either. Pretty sure it was Prance that broke Bulls ribs last year when he was uncovered and I've seen him do it plenty of other times as well. He is the player I detest the most in the AFL, nothing worse than a God botherer that's a hypocrite.

Twas nothing though compared to buggs actions last year. Rance stages dives but hes not alone. Hes certainly not dirtiest player around....... Not by a mile.

He is a quality player with a few flaws. The level of vitriol here imho is out of proportion.

Read Tom Bugg's first person reflection about that incident on the Players Voice and tell me that again.

Rance is an A grade f wit

More moves than Flash Dance.. ol’ Rance.

I hate the way the seven commentary team want to idolise everything he does, even whe it is a blatant error.

Matt Louganis of football.

It’s my second favourite Jack Viney moment (Mav Weller tackle #1)

What a beast! Imagine at the Collingwood team meeting when the coach says - your on Jack Viney. “Oh for f**k sake Bucks”

They can spew platitudes all day long.

Gimme Viney over Rance any day

I understand this has nothing to do with Demons but it is to do with the health of the game.

Rance performed one of his most blatantly absurd and bulldusty dives on the weekend, was rewarded with a free kick and today his coach comes out and says there is nothing wrong with the way this soap star in his own lunchtime plays the game. He then criticised those who have raised their voices  about this serial offender's antics. What annoys me is that even those who criticise this so called 'legend' almost apologise that they can fault Rance because he is a 'great' player, after all.

Rance's claim to  great player status is totally immaterial to the discussion about his flagrant and continued breaches not only of the spirit of the game but the basic laws of the game. In other words, he's a bloody cheat who deserves to be called out for his cheating and his total disrespect for  the game. He plays like someone who feels he is entitled. In other words, he plays like a kid who has never grown up, who is entrapped by his own sense of privilege and vanity.

Rance's punching of the back of Jack Watt's head whilst Jack was laying face down on the ground tells us everything we need to know about Alex Rance's character. Great player sure, but plenty of personal flaws. Diving and gutless sniping just two of them.

I never liked Rance, and would never want him at Melbourne, no matter what or how good he may be.

And this is the reason I never liked his footy. and him.

A hypocrite, who is full of shyter, taking dives like the biggest politicians of our time, he is amongst the world champs of shyte.

 I'd rather have 1 Viney, than 15 Rance's.

His teammate number 32 wasn't in any rush to help out... ??

If I remember correctly, none of them were. They just came over after Viney decked him twice and pushed him away

Just a quick reminder...

Viney - 178cm, 87kg

Rance - 194cm, 94kg

Viney ragdolled him, even when Rance tried to wrestle back.

Rance is a good footballer who also happens to be an egotistical, sniping, posing princess.

Send Jack straight to him for the first 5 minutes the next time we play Richmond to get inside his head. (Or Tim Smith if he's playing).

But his so called reflection after the game was absurd. "Thats not what we are about."

But you just did it.

If true I will retract  my previous defense.

Rance is a hypocritical  piece of %^$#^&. A jehovas witness that wrote a childrens book. You've gotta be joking.

Typical shallow analysis.

You clearly didn't bother going and finding the article I mentioned, so here it is: https://www.playersvoice.com.au/tom-bugg-im-not-who-you-think-i-am/#373wIODgRMwQ9ZXp.97

Oh the irony.

I knew exactly what you were referencing.

I simply chose to discuss  his first response.

Hate to try my clients against someone like you.  Trip finger judgement. Did someone say shallow?

I want Tim Smith back in the side, for the next game against the Tigers. That really lousy knee was typical of the hypocrite.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
