Maybe put your own votes up.

Or provide some sort of reasoning for why you disagree with his votes.

Something actually useful.

Really tough game to decide on votes. It feels like nearly every player had a bite of the cherry.

6. Harmes - Best game for the club. 33 touches, nine marks and six tackles. These are the type of numbers I think we all knew that Harmes was capable of considering his VFL stats a few years ago but we thought we'd never see. My only gripe was with his finishing. Could've easily finished with a couple of goals.

5. McDonald - How important is this guy to our forward structure? Now I know why we keep bombing it into the forward 50. He's going to clunk at least half of what comes his way. Nine goals in three games. Could easily finish with 45+ at the seasons end if he stays injury free which would be a phenomenal effort considering he missed the first five rounds of the year.

4. Oliver - 29 touches and 11 tackles after being well held early in the game. Absolute monster in congestion.

3. Salem - Was uncharacteristically sloppy at times but he's starting to piece together a full four quarter performance. That goal in the final quarter was class as well.

2. Lewis - Solid as a rock. Putting together a handy few weeks.

1. Brayshaw - Picked up where he left off last week with another nice haul of possessions. Like Harmes, the only issue was his conversion. Should've finished with at least three majors today. I'm just nitpicking though, its great to see this guy back doing what he does best!

Honorable mentions to just about everyone else in the team. I feel like we had no bad performers today. Even Weideman, who only had the six possessions had a hand in some early goals.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
