Imagine having Alan Richardson as your coach. Christ he talks [censored] on 360

He's a side talker. Always talks out the side of his mouth.

We are better than them but Saints are in the bottom half of the mid tier of teams (6th-12th). They should go in 50-50 against any teams in that tier and can't be taken lightly.

I'd actually have them firmly in the bottom 6.

Better than Carlton and Brisbane, but thereabouts with GC, the Dogs and Essendon.

Don't disagree with your comment that we can't take them lightly, though.

That's coming but just a light spanking on cheeks this weekend.

Impossible to have any confidence going into any game, let alone one we are expected to beat. Bit sad really we are still in this position.

That [censored] Lyon will do us in again. FFS.

Not taking them lightly on their day they can beat anyone as evidenced by smashing Richmond last year.

Three days ago everyone was saying how bad we were. A week is a long time in football.

My entire facebook and twitter feed is full of articles about how bad St. Kilda are at the moment. This concerns be more than a feed full of articles about how good our next opponent is.

We need to win by 10 goals to help make up the % loss to Hawks and Richmond.

We lost what, 114 points aggregate?

We have made up 36 of that, 78 to go.

We then need to make more up against Carlton.

And that doesn't account for 5 weeks of winning / not winning by 10-20 pt margins.

My maths might be slightly off.

No, we just need to win.

St Kilda are the second lowest scoring team in the comp, even worse than Carlton....we're going nowhere this season if we cant get over the line

This IS the game we come out and give it to a side lacking confidence, however this club has no trust yet and very likely to cop a touch up. If that happens nobody can trust this team until they can prove their trust.  Heart in mouth again for dees supporters.

Geelong in Geelong and Hawthorn in Tassie are not easy ways to judge a team.

The Saints weren't too bad against the Crows, should've beat GWS and took care of Brisbane at Etihad. The idea that they are completely horrendous isn't true.

They struggle to score but are pretty honest effort wise. It's probably a bigger test than Essendon who have bigger holes around the ball. Play like we did in the first half against Essendon and we won't win. Play too over confidently and make silly mistakes and we won't win either.

Not sure if you’ve watched any saints games but their skills have been deplorable to be honest

Like many here I’m wary of the wounded animal. Bombers copped a bit after ANZAC and were the better team in the first half so we need to focus on being ready for them to come hard out of the blocks.

In a twist though it appears our game plan seems to suit etihad stadium more than the G. We seem to relish the fast track with quick transitions through the middle.

With any luck Petracca will be good to go to remind them of the stupid decision not to take him.

This game is becoming harder by the day. Our injury list is far more telling than theirs. No Viney, Trac or Salem. And Hogan is under a cloud and could miss. Honestly this is a dangerous game for us.

Every game is a danger game for us we can't be trusted yet.

This is some MFCSS rubbish.

They were awful, truly awful, against Adelaide. They brought GWS down to their level more than anything. And they were losing to Brisbane in time on in the third and were only about 10 up halfway into the fourth (bearing in mind this was at Etihad, not in Brisbane). They were also abysmal against North (again at Etihad).

Their skills have been consistently poor all year, worse than anything we've dished up. They don't have A-graders and many of the kids they thought would be A-graders are stagnant or going backwards.

None of this is to say we are certainties to beat them. We're not certainties to beat anyone, and we've traditionally struggled against St Kilda. But let's not turn this into a narrative that suggests St Kilda are anything other than a bottom 4 side.

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
