It's one thing to say Lever had a bad game, quite another to conclude he's no good after a handful of games. And why do admins allow players of our club to be called spuds or potatoes anyway. And why do demonlanders continually reference such  sledging as OP's, they are not OP's, they are one-fingered typists.

As someone who has suffered from depression on and off and has deleted all forms of social media, I can tell you I feel  much better than I did when I had it.

Depression is never bought on by just one thing. It's a combination of genetic predisposition, background and current life circumstances. However, I don't think it's coincidental that the worst period of that time in my life was from 2011 through 2014 when I spent a crap load of time on Facebook.

Jake has made a wise move.

Social Media they can have it and sleep with it.   I hope for Jake he has a clear head now and is able to produce some very good football that he is capable of. Better than when he was at the Crows.

Yep, our players are the best, the rest are not, and the umpires are the exception............

Hard to argue with that. Some of the stuff on Facebook makes me really question humanity.

Demonland has its share of negative posters, but I would say most of them are playing the ball, not the man.

Facebook on the other hand is a cesspit. Hard to imagine Twitter being much different.

Twitter is worse.

Good luck, Colin - and good move, getting off social media. I've never been on it, but from what I see of my kids, it looks like a recipe for mental disaster, both for the individual and for society (Zuckerberg makes my flesh creep).

Rest assured Jumbo, those brave guys who self assuredly sit in their dimly lit home offices, all safe and secure and anonymous, and who draw inspiration from their favourite characters from Full Metal Jacket, would not even say ‘boo’ to Jack Watts in person.

Most of us know this to be the case, and I expect most of the players know this as well.

Some self righteous posting going on here

Heroes on here have bagged Jack Watts for years

F%#en hypocrites

Plus what some ( note I said some ) MFC “supporters” said about Chris Dawes & Mark Neeld was disgusting - All because of a game.

100% hypocrites, but the AFL know who the “ring leaders are”.

Direct personal attacks on Twitter are a quantum leap from posters being critical of performances on a forum like Demonland.

Supporters have every right to be critical and call it as they see it. As soon as you get personal, you've overstepped the line. And if you are directly messaging athletes on Twitter, then you are messed up in the head.

Excellent post FD. Sums up the situation very well, especially the last sentence

On football

Never personal

Look at the trolling of some of the players over the years

Find my content - I don't give a [censored]

My favourite over the years was this gem - 'Cam Bruce wees sitting down'

Oh yeah, we're good

I’m actually amazed we have so few “supporters” prepared to stand up for our players.

I know for a fact if anybody had a crack at my two fav Tigers ie Cotch and Basha I would be happy to stand up for both of them - both aare quality players and quality people - I appreciate both.

I don’t think anyone means what they actually say, heat of the moment stuff and comes from years of disappointment. It’s hard not to imagine Cotch and Basha being anything less and good footballers to go with it. Once we start winning regularly I’m sure it’ll all settle down.

I think if it’s just football centric criticism then it’s fair game. It comes with the territory, and most players (especially Lever) are adequately compensated. Essentially it’s the same what guys like Robbo or Caro write. Personal attacks are definitely not on, however.

Yeah we get it - but it’s not acceptable - no excuses. I would not like to count the cost this issue has cost the MFC in the past.

Think you’re barking up the wrong tree there. There are many other clubs with worse supporters than ours who’ve won flags. But agree, not acceptable. We move on.

In all honesty your posts in this thread are a mixture of self righteousness, hyperbole and troll. The above is absolutely ridiculous. You are distracting from the op. Please stop.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
