North’s hammering of St Kilda was the best thing to happen for us. They don’t want to go into a game overconfident as they did both times last year against them.

Their team as above was very ordinary and yet we couldn’t beat them with a 5 goal breeze at our backs.

Never have I wanted us to win a game so much as this one.

It will prove us contenders and take away norfs smugness.

Back on the G where we were beaten by the Roos . Brown is on fire and kicked his 6 last game. I like to think that Lever gets the first crack  at him as l hope Frosty will be in the side as well. It will also give Lever a chance to do some sweeping and intercepting which will help his confidence.

I am confident that we have the side now to win these type of games but to me Lever becomes a key to this game. The puzzle is been put together slowly over the years and it is coming on well.  Clarry and co will take care of the rest the match.

Goodwin has been beaten twice by this rabble. Will be interesting to see whether he changes anything or goes with his solitary game plan....

Last time:

Free kick count 21 Norf,  10 to us. Umps were putrid.

We had 195 HBs to 178 kicks

They out-tackled us 94 to 78

We let them score 6g 7b in the opening qtr.

They also had 85 marks to our 69.

They chip the ball around and pressure us when we have it knowing that we will turn it over.

We simply must stop handballing ourselves into trouble, run our bums off and keep the ball off them. We will then have a chance

Just f*cking smash them already. It’s been too long it’s beyond a joke.

That was the hardest part of last week. Just as I began thinking 'yes, finally, a game where we will really romp it in' the players started thinking it too.

I just want to see us dish out one good thumping, just for the refreshment, and as a bit of punctuation to this long slow story of recovery.

Yes I still remember 2013 when they destroyed us by 100+ on the ‘G. Getting the monkey off the back is one thing but we owe that rabble of a club some serious pain.

In my travels through Albion Street, Brunswick while walking around long time ago, i used to like North and i hoped i'd run into Mantello or Allan Aylett, and sometimes i did. But now these nice old blokes have won their Flags and it's our turn to win one. Now it's our time to see Hogan running through the middle of The G at 100 k's an hour not Sam's and see Max not stopping for anyone either, not Teaser's or Mick's time.....

My worst moment at the footy was watching a Dees v Kangas match. I was in the MCC members and screaming a bit, maybe getting a bit carried away. Anyhow, one of the MCC staff came over to me and tapped me on the shoulder. He said " we don't mind if you barrack, but don't swear and keep your comments reasonable "  Someone had reported me.

I turned around, and a couple of rows behind me was this horrible old crone about 90 years old with a tattered old blue and white scarf wrapped around her scrawny neck. She made Lady Faversham look like Cameron Diaz. Horrible old b...ch.

She gave me a withering look and ruined my day.

Hate North with a passion .  Let's turn these bast....s into the natural fate of the kangaroo..... dog food.

We got crucified by the umpires at the "G" last year.

It would be great to have a non umpire impacted game against the Roos and finally bury this hoodoo!

Don't care by how much as long as we win. 10 goals plus would be great as would ease the nerves compared to a last kick type result.

Gawn, Clarry, Hogan, OMac have played well in both games, would be great to see the rest of the team play well this week.

Missed Trac and Hibberd who both played okay week 1 & 2. Seems to be a lot of room for improvement from the rest of the team.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
