Last time we had a trio this sublimely talented running around must have been Lyon-Schwarz-Jakovich in 1994.

Hard not to get excited.

1 Vince. Thought he did a reasonable job on Zorko. 20 touches and a goal, I’d take that from a bloke who’s capable of 35 and 5.

Harmes? Really? I must have been watching a different game. When I get to the thread on changes for the North game, he's high on my list for consideration for demotion.

6. Hogan

5. Garlett

4. Oliver

3. Jones

2. Hibberd

1. Melksham (thought he provided the forwards with excellent delivery from outside 50. Something that's been too often lacking in the last few years, if not decades.)

I owe Harmes (and Werridee) an apology. I hadn't realised he had so much of the ball (equal 4th for disposals) as well as equal 4th for tackles. Maybe I didn't recognise him in his new number.

Note: I've had to quote my own post as the "Edit" option seems to have disappeared.

Edit: And now the "Edit" option is back.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
