Zorko and Beams will hard to stop.

Zorko got completely tagged out of the game, I wonder if we'll try the same (we should I think). Maynard tried hard against Ablett, but that's not his natural role and he seemed all at sea whenever he happened to get the ball cause it seemed like he was too focused on tagging.  I'd play either Bernie on Zorko or bring in Bugg as a tagger, he's got the fitness and loves the niggle.

They aren't to be taken lightly but, seriously, we should have them covered without too many problems if we're going to be a finals side.

The Saints are just an average side and it showed on the weekend.  We are better across the ground than them and if we bring our 'A' game then we'll put them away.

No easy beats.

They will be a finals contender in 3 years with that list.

If we play like we did in the 2nd half yesterday, tidy up a couple things then we will win easy

Not so sure we can play that way in 28c temp and pouring rain! That’s the expected weather in Brisbane for next Saturday. The Sunshine Coast camp training might come into play.

Gee Brisbane will be getting themselves up for this one.  First home game of the year, and they would see us as very gettable.  Massive danger game.

I live 500 metres from the Gabba. It will be mild temperature wise, around 22 degrees by game time but rain not mentioned for W/T/F/S. Humidity dropping off now so should be great conditions for players and a good beer drinking evening for us fans.

Some nervous Nelly’s in here.

We’ll win easily.

The standard of both games this week was worlds apart.

With Rich and Robinson confirmed out, they will be fielding an incredibly inexperienced side that we should bully and walk all over.

Brisbane by 25.

We only just beat them at the MCG last year.

If we are a finals side we win and win well, I'm just not convinced we have improved enough, especially with our midfield.

Rd 22 we were 40 pts up in the last quarter and let the Lions get to within 6 or 7 pts from memory. The following week we got towelled up by COllingwood to miss out on finals.

Until we can start winning these games by 40+ points we won't be a serious contender for anything.

With a 15% winning record over the past decade no game is a certainty

The team we field now would smash the teams that kept us down at 15% 100% of the time.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
