Im not jumping off my demons just voting with my feet so to speak , In relation to giving the premium membership a miss if Watts goes . This reeks of  another ‘Neelded’  moment to me .

Goodwin mentioned when talking about Watts that the players and players association have called for player movement so that was what the club will do - could this be a hint  as to why Jack is out of favour as a role model ? has he been towing the ‘union’ line in realtion to extra sessions or whatever ,

we dont have a perfect player onfield at our club and surely any off field stuff can be sorted out with some communication,  Watts aint Jake stringer .

I reckon Hogan is close with and looks up to Watts could this be the nudge to get him back to freo if his mate Jack is pushed out .

Jack is in ours and most 22’s in the comp . Have you thought about him kicking bags of goals  in the cats or swans jumper? We have used Jack as a swingman plugging holes really He has never played in settled plus ten win team . This is a huge mistake to offload  him.

He was dropped twice too...

2018 might be his last year.

Pedders played two good games after Round 14 and the rest were poor to meh. He doesn't get the attention when he is sh!te though...

2 arguable best on grounds. i cant think jack getting close to best on honours, let alone two, in his 150 games.

Really? Jack had some rippers the last couple years... You don't help your argument when you ignore facts that don't back up your argument...

Correct me if I’m wrong Doc, but you don’t rate Watts?

Not sure how any of us really know exactly how Watts is in and around the club. Personally, I'm backing Goodwin and Co.on this. Also, for those who say we're worse off without him a reported early second round/late first rounder is salivating. Finally, and undeniable ,I will not miss the 'media street' that Jack has brought to the club since day one. Whilst not always his fault, the fact remains is that the attention is inordinate. Many have tired of this unwanted attention, myself included. Having said all that, there is a tinge of sadness. Seems a good bloke and promised us so much.

for some reason everyone was ok when we ditched howe who was in the AA squad but now a fringe player in watts leaves everyone is cracking it.

probably the same people that called Bate the next pavlich, strauss the next suckling and tapscott the next riccuito

I think that is dramatic licence from a FD boss desperate to create an asset out of a contracted player. I happen to know that Gawn is not the kind of professional influence you want around the 'impressionable youth' that we have.

Footy clubs are full of various personalities, even Jack Viney this season spoke about how his leadership has altered to be more accomodating to personalities different to his focussed, intense, and strict footballing attitude.

So, no, I don't think it would be a reckless decision to keep Watts.

I've always found Mahoney to be very measured in his dealings with the media.

He knows everything he publicly says will get back to the player in question.

I find it very hard to believe he'd make such utterances without it being a genuine concern of the football department.

I believe him.

This whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, not happy with Goodwin and the club at all. Losing Watts almost cancels out the good feeling of getting Lever.

He may love the bloke, but he couldn't possibly look up to Watts the footballer.

He's a quiet, but very smart young man.  He sees what we see.

Cmon mate he was thrown to the wolves !

Given games before he was ready ahead of other players . It wasnt good for anyone . Look at what we are doing with Weiderman’s development campared to Watts? We failed as a club - number one pick was our savior trot him out and let him cop the inordinate attention that the failures generate .

We have ruined enough high draft picks coming to a dysfunctional club on and off field . Now we want the one that has survived and can play out of the club when providing the environment he should have been in from day 1 . Our club has a story the last decade includes a scrapheap of ruined careers Or guys who have gone and prospered elsewhere .

If we cant have Watts succeed at our club I fear history is repeating.

I'm surprised that he has elite pressure acts. He must have done something really bad in the pre season to cop the flack he's getting from Goodwin.

Yes,he got a raw deal to begin with but his Pre season this year and late season slump had little to do with that. Watts has been the focus of the media and we don't need it.That aspect won't be missed.

I have two words to remind the coaches about the Watts trade - Jeremy Howe. Nominated in the all Australian squad and likely to pick up the Collingwood B&F. How come Buckley and Co can get this performance out of him and Goodwin and Co felt they needed to trade him? No one doubts Jacks talent. It's a coaches job to get the players to perform. Blaming the player is the softest option available. The coaching department seems incapable of getting the players to perform when it's most needed- witness the hopeless performances against Collingwood and Kangas- at the back end of the season to make the finals. My message to Simon Goodwin is do your job and get the best out of talented players. But then again........"i know nuthingggg"

What a complete load of Sh.t.   Name one other player traded in recent years that has actually performed???

Watts has been in the system 10years and should now by now what it takes to be a good player.

And what did Roos have to say about his abysmal Pre season? Is this the same Paul Roos who had a crack at the media at a post match press conference following a reasonable game from Salem/Tyson and lauding how we'd won in the deal that saw us miss out on Kelly? Not always the guru.

That, in itself, is an indictment after nine years. Successive coaching staffs and peers have deemed him not worthy.

I would have thought so as well. Another indictment for me is that I don't know that he's ever expressed a wish to be in the leadership group, or disappointment at not being included. For a "people person" like Jack it's odd to the say the least.

Some say he is revered and popular amongst team mates. I have my doubts.

The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
