Trade rumours

Featured Replies

The AFL and club insurers would be relieved Mummy may be retiring. The risks of a player becoming crippled will be reduced.

This is not a rumour, but I didn't want to start a thread on it.

Would there be any interest in Tom Campbell from the Dogs as a back up ruckman?  Has shown a little bit at AFL level and knows how to kick a goal as well.  I'm basing this suggestion on nothing more than the fact he is looking at his options and the fact we may need a little more back up for Max going forward.

Not even 26 yet, so still has quite few years in him. If he is able to get his body right, don't see why he wouldn't be an option.

There it is!

Fine innings for ‘trade rumours’

A late start in comparison with other more high profile threads, but has rocketed along to a cracking century

Any update about the victorian mid @Siren

All caught up in the lever deal. Trying to keep our next year first rounder which Adelaide want

No way we should be bundling up next years first rouder in the lever deal.

Now that Fasolo is out ofthe WC  trade ,  I would not be suprised if Dean Kents name is thrown around at the trade table

Would prefer Zac Clarke as a DFA.

3937 post in the Jack Watts thread and he is still here.

3675 posts in the Lever thread and he is still not here.

2482 posts in the trade thread and still no trades.

I feel sorry for anyone who listens to that Trade Radio.

They've been going from 7am to 6pm every day since Monday and not one trade has happened.

What the fark would they have to talk about by today?

I was listening on Monday morning when trade period opened, and Cornes and whoever else were making a big song and dance every time a club arrived to Etihad. And then a player agent arrived and they started crapping on that they only turn up when a deal is imminent. It was all a bit sad.

Might be worth listening to for the last few days, but even then, it is rare that any deals are done completely out of blue that genuinely surprise you. Garlett coming to Melbourne was one I remember hearing about for the first time as it was announced on the radio, but that was a one off.

I would of taken Rockliff over Vince but not for 4 years at 650k a year.

Sooo your point is moot?

Any rumours on whether we have a small forward who adds forward pressure and a little goalkicking nous in our sights, if we're going to be ridding the forward line of a 3rd tall ?

FB said Poppy was on the market.

I see. So google tells me he's contracted until the end of 2018, so Hawthorn have probably not offered an extension? He was also 2nd in the 'forward half pressure' graph that 'on the couch' displayed last week. Given we're not going to trade second round picks that Hawthorn might demand, it would put us out of the picture?

I would have.

Turns 30 in December. Hawthorn would offload him for anything decent ie. a 3rd rounder. Pressure is still decent but that's about all he's got.

I think forward pressure is a young mans game, and it's also a team effort. Garlett, ANB and probably Harmes are the incumbent pressure players - when on they are all pretty decent tacklers. I'm keen to see Vanders back. Think we can get something from Melksham or Balic on a flank. Talls need to do much more.

Probably looking at one more pressure player. DJ the one on the list for that role. I'd go the draft for another speedy tackler.

He’s inconsistent at best.

In addition, 1 goal from 4 grand finals suggests he may not be the cherry on top player we’re looking for.

And I've never understood why supporters would GAF how much the players get paid.

Missed it Nash, have not of.

Done Deal: Smith joins Essendon

Devon Smith is off to Essendon as the dominoes start to fall. The Giants will receive pick No.11 from the Bombers.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
