Lever and ... ? Do you still think Gaff?

We still have to satisfy both clubs. I can't see, the way things stand at the moment, how we can satisfy both clubs.

If we can get pick 6 for Watts & pick 10, we might be able to add it to a third rounder for Lever and save a second rounder. But a mid-second-rounder won't be enough for Gaff, and apart from Hogan, I can't see who we've got that WCE would want. Kent and a second rounder is unders for Gaff.

If you wait one more year we can l presume get Gaff for much less,a high 2nd round pick l think. iTS WORTH THE WAIT.

Watts should not be traded.

Popular clubman.  Loves the Dees. Loyal through tough times.

6’5 forward. Agile. Skilled.  Averages 1.7 goals 6 marks 16 disposals 3 tackles.

Kicked the winner v Pies in QB game.

Dropped from pre-season matches because of poor pre-season form and attitude.

Dropped to Casey for poor form/attitude.

Also ended the previous season at Casey due to poor form/attitude.

I agree. But fact is he's gone.Goody wants him gone. And if the coach doesn't want him, he's unlikely to want to change.

Think you'll find decisions like this aren't just made by the coach, but would involve the whole FD, even up to Board Level (depending on the player and other considerations)

How do you think he would stand up in a grand final...

Not worried if he is traded.

Not a rumour... But I think Connor Menadue would be a great get.

Quick, tall outside player and can win his own ball. Has x-factor. 3 years in the system and only 21.

Next year's tigers will be this years bulldogs.

Negative. these are the facts

Watts had a strong first 12-13 weeks.

Hurts hamstring v Bulldogs.

Misses 3 weeks.  Has to come back due to MFC  slump.

Gets dropped for 2 games.

Named in best 5 in final game v Pies. One of very few who could hold his head up.

Not sure why he is trade bait??? Salary??? Salem & Tyson would be ahead of Watts in my traceable suggestions.

Watts is gone because well get something for him now but nothing in 2, years. Also he's contracted so the club holds the aces. Grow up folks this game is about Premierships. Even the players are over Watts. Popular clubman my arse

Aren't footy clubs sacred institutions anymore?  Watts veins flow red and blue

yes we all belong to an institution following them for as many yrs as we have but reallY, ask him!  does he really want to be at the club next year and beyond?  And why?

if he says no then fine (tells you something we already know may still be a very open wound at our footy club) , if he says yes then says something about his belief and his spirit in yanking us up the ladder.   Our chains have been pulled for a many yrs granted but let's get on with it and who the [censored] knows;  a reasonable draw, way fewer injuries than we copped up the ?️‍? this yr and some good depth on our list most certainly, lets see how we fare.  Salem is tradable at this point foR mine.   We know Goodies has his mates  and still persists with Vince for e.g. But don't throw the baby out with the bath water in JackW just yet

I'm happy with it. He sets standards and what he wants a player to put in. The crows have zero top 10 picks and they are in a Grand Final. They've built that on club culture which trumps talent every day of the week.

Technically true, but a bit deceptive.  They have a player who went ahead of the no. 1 pick in Crouch (taken outside the draft as a 17 year old through the GWS startup concessions) and Tex Walker who was a zone pick and again taken outside the draft.  Tom Lynch was a first round pick, as were Lever and Talia.  They also have a number of developing first round players who were not played today.

Watts would stand up in a GF.

WATCH THE 2017 QB GAME !!

Kicks straight. Finds targets. Does not over possess the footy.

It's a shame the people rarely describe Jack as having a ferocious attack on the ball, or as a manic tackler or even committed to the contest.

He'd need to change his spots to be able to be an asset in a final or GF.

NEELD CRUCIFIED WATTS  AND GOODWIN HASN'T HELPED HIS CASE BY not picking him in the practice games  at the start of the season . However Goodwin  went one better and dropped him for poor form when there were worse players than Watts. now he doesn't want him????????????????? Could not help but think that this drama is not going to help our team morale. hmmmmmmm.

The last 9 years proves he just doesnt have it in him to be a contested beast. When other players tackle, Jack prefers a nice cuddle.

Marshmallows are harder.

Beautiful kick, but thats not enough for the coaches any more.

He finds hunger for the contest or he finds a new home. Thats just the way it is.

Bout time.

I only hope that the concept of trading either Watts or Hogan (both of whom have been mentioned) is sounded out with our major sponsors in case there are ramifications! ?

It's our grand final....

it's a home and away game worth 4 points, not a grand final, nor a final. Calling the QG game our GF needs to be a thing of the past.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
