It's hardly surprising.

Such a click bait title from SEN.  It is just one of them (SOS I think) pontificating about whether North might want a player instead of a pick, and then he threw up Brayshaw as a suggestion (and a dumb one at that).  The title makes it sound like North are actually interested in one of our players when they aren't.

Sorry, sounds like such a small thing to be annoyed about, but I wasted 5 minutes of my life to find that info out.  And I want it back!!

While this isn’t as show stopping as getting a Jeremy Cameron to the club, it’s going to be just as effective for us. I honestly think with Ben having more games on the weekend wide expanses of the G, the best is yet to come for him. Great pickup!

... I can't see that a midfielder of ours for Ben Brown would be commensurate... so yeah Clickbait.. but tasty clickbait I guess.. when we're worried that the midfield would get disbanded... when we are finally coming up to the goldlilocks zone...

And heaps cheaper and pic wise too i would expect.

And he costs half of what Cameron does.   Both coming off down years.  Their career averages are almost identical

We have done very well here.

Desperately need another small to compliment the talls. Brown, Weid, Jackson, Pickett are a few great pieces of the puzzle, Tracc resting forward with another Pickett type acquisition will make us a lot more dangerous.

Jack Lonie  ( St Kilda) is the man and will be available!!

North fans reckon they'll get a minimum of a first round pick for him.

I love North fans.  They've got no idea.

We have to develop 'mongrel' now. We have the personnel to win, we need 'mongrel' to get there comprehensively.

Woo hoo.

Brown is a great addition to our forward line .

Tx Norf.

Well done MFC.

#postoftheyear

Huge news, great get Dees, can't just sit back and think how good are we.

Need to be more proactive in another couple of trades.

Dress sense is a little shabby, too.

What’s wrong with Milkshake? Geeze. Next you’ll be telling me that Pedo and Fritzl aren’t good nicknames.

I still can’t believe Norf fans exist. Like I know they do, and each one of them is a [censored], but like why?

I think North fans better get ready for disappointment, they’ve basically made Brown staying at North impossible and they have only one piece of leverage, saying they’ll let him walk (which in their current situation they really don’t want).

They’ve just moved on a lot of players, how are they stocked for defenders? Brown for pick 23 and Oscar perhaps?

LOL. If I were our no. 9 I'd also be taking out a court injunction to prevent the Deebrief from calling him Spargy Pants.

Melbourne is confident it can accommodate three talls in the same forward line next year as it attempts to clinch a deal for Ben Brown.

But the Demons must work hard to re-sign Western Australian Luke Jackson ahead of certain attempts from the two WA clubs to poach him.

Jackson, 19, is out of contract next year and will be in demand if the Demons cannot secure an extension over summer.

Coach Simon Goodwin will play Brown, Jackson and Sam Weideman together in the same forward half next season with the club facing a finals-or-bust season.

It means the Demons will explore Jackson’s versatility as a key-forward ruckman who will support captain Max Gawn in the ruck in 2021.

But the Demons also have high hopes the former Australian basketballer could play as a big midfielder or wingman in the same vein as Geelong utility Mark Blicavs in his second AFL season.

Oh ffs, they really know how to throw [censored] on a salad. I bet old floggsy Clark $100 that Jackson signs on again to the Dees.

Surely people get that some posters have their one trick pony schtick (a bit like Ben Brown allegedly) - and we all openly acknowledge this, without ever actually telling the person that we know that their schtick is boring as feck.

And that's ok.

But then every now and again the schtick changes and you realise that said poster *ahem, cough* Ben Brown has more in his armoury than given credit for. And it's a lovely surprise.

Some posters however... drone on and on and on... best to mute methinks... even if the 'crowd' think they're amusing.....

And so linking that back to Ben... it's ok to sledge Ben, over his hair, his run up... but when you're 8 can's deep  at the preliminary final next year, 4 goals up and Ben is managing momentum/time wasting with his run up, or his brush back of his voluptuous hair...(yes I know the clock has stopped)... we can all probably reflect on how, when for north melbourne, for the love of god, who is this [censored]...but now.. .my man, I always knew this would be a great trade so that I, and only I can finally reach the holy grail of a premiership and cry many many many many tears of joy... but then you come back to reality and the G, probably in the ponsford stand if you are from the country like myself... and give yourself a little fist pump and knowing smile, that hey... this Brown bloke, much like some posters on Demonland, can actually surprise you...even though they're as beige as feck.

My nipples got hard reading this part...

I can't wait for Hardwick to tell Grimes, "FFS, pick up Brown". The dumb ba*&@#d runs to Mitch Brown, Ben kicks six and we win by a goal.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
