K-Rock

His voice was quivering as Watts kicked the goal.

Spine tingling.

Any chance of finding T-Macs goal v Meth Coast?

The radio commentary kraps all over the T.V

The thing about that footage (apart from the lack of love for Hibberd's spoil) that gets me is that nobody gives Oscar credit for a great pass.  That was an incredibly difficult thing he did with only a second or so to look and execute.

Here's what they had to say:

  • 3AW "a little dribbler.:
  • MMM he "hacks it forward."
  • ABC "a little toe poke."
  • AFL Nation "dribble kick out."

I know it gets overshadowed by the awesomeness of the finish at the other end, but Oscar deserves more credit than that.  Everything that Harmes and Watts did came off the back of his quick thinking.

But it was a hack forward, and i say that with the greatest respect.

It was all skill.  He knew exactly what he was doing.

I am not doubting that, he had no time, but he knew what he was doing.

It was good fortune that it came off, as was Hibberds finger touching of the ball to get it across to Oscar

Even Harmes kick was to a spot Watts could run onto. If that is a kick where he tries and hits the target and it drops short then Watts is held up. But he chooses to put it out in front and it was the right option executed well.

I love watching the crowd around the wing. They all start standing up when they realise what is about to happen. What a moment it was!

They do too, I had not noticed. It's like a very slow moving mexican wave.

We have all probably been dismayed with Jack at times over the years with his occasional lack of "go". But that hard, long sprint after 99 minutes of unbelievably tough footy to put himself in the position to kick the winning goal would have taken a lot of courage. It would have been far easier just to call for Harmes to centre the ball but he gut ran to the better option instead.

Love the videos, thanks, but-"the much maligned" "Watts has arrived" etc etc, some of these commentators are real gold coated f*** wits.

And it was Hibberd's spoil as much as anything that won us the day. A near certain goal saved.

That game had it all including a near heart attack to me.

I find it hard to think of a more memorable single moment in all my time supporting this club. There was something genuinely magical in that passage of play.

Thanks for posting Brendan - need to save this thread forever.

that sequence from pedo at back pocket to salem goal to pinch the game against the peptides a couple of years ago was equally memorable, ron

How good is that commentary of AFL Nation?  And how poor is Dill's brother?

Also, take a look at the footy smarts of Jeffy.  Had to position himself the best while at the same time read Jack's mind.  His (Jeffy) inclusion this week is big.

K Rock and AFL nation oddly enough were the best. Disappointing with the rest... you literally couldn't screw that up. Jack provided the timing to make any commentators job easy...

Man... I can't wait til post season and to start a "your top 10 favourite MFC moments of 2017." That goal will rate high with many... but TMac's will as well.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
