Milkshake and Harmes would have to hold their spot. Nibbler may have done just enough. I reckon there may be a surprise in store - Max or Jesse to come in.

Fair enough.

For mine it's simple. Last time we had a good win we didn't change the side, and I think Goody will try to do that again.

Salem in, Wagner out. Most likely.

Sooks will call for OMac to go out, but I feel like matchups-wise he'll stay in for White, Cox or Moore.

If Hogan's in, one of ANB and Harmes comes out. Would be pretty harsh on Harmes after getting us back into the game to be dropped. Poor old ANB.

I think if Hogan's in, it'll be all over the media in the leadup, so no need to predict that one.

I haven't been following the Pies line-up. Have they played both Cox and White together? I know that wasn't the case earlier in the season. TMac would have to go back by the sounds of his performance as a forward today.

If Hogan in TMac could go back (not a forward) OMac out.Salem for Wagner who only came good late. Harmes kicked 3 goals but otherwise only average. ANB is safe.

Hogan in would mean that, yeah. If not, I think it's ok to start him forward, and when we see if he handles Howe and Schade, he can stay, or we roll Pedo through and move TMac to ruck. Has at least the engine, pace and bulk to limit Grundy when he's there. Pedo I think would get run off his feet. Watts will get pushed around in the air.

I'm pretty sure early in the year they rolled with all three. Not sure about recently. If I'm Bux, I'm playing Cox. Looking at how we've handled 200cm+ players this year, he would be a good chance to get a game.

If Hogan is ready, he comes in, TMac settles back in defence, and OMac comes out.

Salem in for Bugg, or maybe Wagner, although thought he did pretty well yesterday. But Salem has to come in.

Salem for Bugg or Wagner. My preference would be for Bugg, but Wagner may make more sense positionally.

Hogan for OMac. TMac back to defence in this scenario.

Ruckman for other of Bugg/Wagner.

Obviously the latter two changes are subject to availability of Hogan, Gawn and Spencer. I am assuming none of them will be available and it'll just be the one change.

hard to see hogan or gawn being ready.

salem is an auto-in, possibly - as others have posited - at the expense of wagner or anb.

bugg and harmes hold their spots as they provide pressure and harassment and scoreboard pressure; if bugg could kick straight his last two weeks would be hailed. his workrate has been top notch, his kicking absolutely atrocious.

I'd be reluctant to do it.

But Watts last 3 weeks have been sub par. Been opting for chest marks instead of hands out front, looks lethargical..

(Dream Scenario)

IN

Gawn Hogan Salem

Out

Wagner Oscar Bugg?

(Likely Scenario)

IN

Salem

OUT

Wagner

Couldn't agree more about Bugg. He has been linking up at Half forward beautifully for us. I'd be more inclined to push him to a wing so he has less shots..

In - Hogan, Salem

out -2 of ANB, Bugg, O Mac or Wagner

ANB played his best ever game but is always thereabouts when it comes to omissions.

Wagner all of a sudden learnt how to kick at half time. so he probably stays.

Bugg presents really well but 0.7 might come back to haunt him at selection.

O Mac is O Mac, and his older brother might take over his role. However O Mac might stay if we still don't have a ruckman with T Mac rucking a fair bit.

The bye has come at just the right time. A few players badly need a rest Watts is one who comes to mind, has played his guts out and looks spent.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
