GAME DAY - Round 9

Featured Replies

Overusing the footy as usual. Have learnt nothing from the Hawthorn game

Kent gets knocked off the ball way to easy for a guy built the way he is.

Bullet handballs to teammates under pressure....

Now that'll work.

Hope hunts ok, been no sight of him so far.

Looked alright on that run down the wing just then.

Fumbling and not tackling. Classic MFC when a team brings it physically.

This could be a lot worse.

Yeah. We have been lucky to score.

Need a spark.

16 entries for 12 scoring shots.

Unacceptable.

We have no mongrel. Apologies to Bernie and Lewis. Norf are trying to hurt us with every tackle

We must be the worst in the Comp at inside 50 marks

Being pushed off almost every contest

How bad was the defence there? That NEVER should be that easy

Lazy and soft at this point. Where is the manic pressure from last week??

If we don't have the worst starting record and worst record at winning close ones in the AFL i would be very surprised

Jeez they have missed some gettable shots.

Norfs terrible kicking is keeping us in this... they should be 7 goals up

Im tipping its our slow quarter......

North tend to start like this and than stop. Don't throw in the towel to early guys.

Tmac has gone back, but we need the midfield and fwd pressure of last week to help out ffs.

We will come back. But why the hell does this have to happen every week? When will they learn, ffs?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
