Kicked multiple goals and won the hit outs convincingly and he's about half as good as Jacobs. Pedo is fighting hard but we can't really expect much rom him

McEvoy played his role as a pure ruckman, he didn't hammer us, we hammered ourselves, some of the hyperbole is silly   2 goals suppose that is multiple   also thought stats were irrelevant?

But Pedersen is a good 10cm shorter than othe rucks. McEvoy floated forward and got his hands to a lot, which directly and indirectly led to a lot of scores for Hawthorn.

I actually think TMac rucking more last week left our back 6 a little unsettled in the talls department. Goodwin tweaked it at half time and we improved, but I would expect TMac to stay down back full time tomorrow night.

True this. Unfortunately, Jack Watts is the best of our non ruck rucks, because he reads the intentions of the oppo ruck, tries to influence their tap to our advantage, and is thinking as much about being involved at the fall of the ball (which he often is) as contesting the hit out. The good thing about that is it involves him in the game, the bad is that we'd prefer he were down forward more.

Stats or no stats, you can't deny McEvoy played a good game.  He wasn't a match winner, but through no fault of Pedo/Watts/T Mac, he had enough hit outs that some went to advantage and gave them first use.  At the moment we are lucky to win a hit out, let alone get one to advantage.

Pedo has been excellent for us so far, but he can't stop guys 10cm taller than him.  The thought of Jacobs dominating in the ruck is a scary one, and no matter how hard we try, they'll not be able to stop him from doing it.

Also what Benny Boy was able to do was grab the ball quite easily. His height killed a number of scoring efforts. No one to counter reach.

Agree Bbo. I have one question how on earth does the Weid get to be an emergency?

He has played one game since  being dropped after very poor form and injury. In his return game last week he was spectacularly poor!

Yes our makeshift ruck and mids have done ok at the clearances it's around the ground that we have been exposed for lack of a tall.

Yes he's not up to it at the moment OD. I can only assume (and I saw it mentioned elsewhere) that he is a backup in case Hogan is ill.

I think I'll be sick if Walker kicks more than four. I'd put Frost on him, I think he could really frustrate Walker and put him off his game. 

If McDonald goes to Walker and he kicks a couple of early ones, McDonald will struggle for the remainder of the game.

Assume Jetta will go to Betts, should be a good duel, as long as the umpires don't get sucked into Betts flopping around and playing for frees.
