If you're beating up a team whose played 2 quarters of footy 2 men down and are going to get done by a couple of goals you can [censored] off and support someone else.

Harmes, JKH, ANB, Melksham... here is the door.

And thats all from me.

Hunt, Clarry and Hibbo - with a few others popping in and out.

Rest were solid B and C graders - nothing more.

Z E R O leadership. A massive worry.

I am disappointed as anyone but anyone that doesn't think having no ruckman and being another down on the bench did not cost the win has no idea about football. As soon as Spencer was done they dominated the stoppage I wonder why. Great effort, we were out on our feet. Shame it ended the way it did but I know whose list I would rather have.

5 goals top nil (2 down or not), is very telling.

Truly shows where we are as a club.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
