I think we will beat them with or without dusty.ย

Hope you are right mate...

Martin is under a cloud, but I would still prefer him to play. That way if we get up the tiger's supporters can't play the "but dusty didn't play" card.

Should be game of the round, everyone in town is interested in this game.

ย

I dont care what Tiger fans say or do,

I care that we win

Agree totally McQueen. ย Arguably, Richmond's best win so far this year was against WCE at the G, and having just watched the previously winless Hawks demolish the Eagles at the same venue, it's clear that Richmond have had a fairly accommodating draw to date. ย I'm confident of a win, and a margin of 6 goals+ wouldn't surprise.

Bang on.

As if we didn't know already, their win against the Eagles in Melbourne doesn't have a lot of meritย following today's hiding from the Hawks.

I'm very confident. I think we'll bring our best pressure for 4 quarters and the Tigers won't be able to handle it. 5 goal win.

Circuituous arguments carry no Weight.

What is IS

What was..is irrelevant

That is all ;)

ย

Iโ€™m calling it now โ€“ Richmond will be in 9th position heading into the final day of the season.

(Why do they always end up in 9th when I fiddle with AFL Ladder Predictor? It's freakin' uncanny).

I simply don't see any part of their game where they can beat us.

Our backline has their forwards covered.

Our midfield will crush theirs.

Petracca, Hogan, Watts, Garlett.

A lot of ability there in our forward line.

The boys are very confident about tomorrow, they truly believe that they should be 4-0 and I agree to be honest.

You might have noticed over years that very average footballers have a knack of carving us up...

Way to snuff out any glimmer of positivity, chap!ย

We will beat Richmond and it will give the boys a sample of what it's like to win a game,ย in front of a big audience, on the biggest stage around.ย

We had the exact same sample in the past two years (to go with a Queen's Bday triumph) and it didn't do us much lasting good. Our real problem is that we can't play on the small stage.

I wouldn't care if they did, would make the victory even sweeter to see them whinging about might have beens.ย

I haven't wanted to win a game this badly since we beat Collingwood in 2015.

Their midfield aren't the pushovers they have been and their small forwards will trouble our backline, especially in the wet. We can't pissfart around with the ball across half back like last week, have to move it quickly forward to put them up see pressure.

It kinda has the same feeling as the build up to round one game against the saints, doesn't it?

Speculation around if we are good enough, and general public opinion isย 60/40 towards the opposition being better.

I love the statement that the boys put out especially in the second and third quarter of round 1, so let's hope they will follow suit and respond in the same manner.

I have a feeling Viney has set himself for this game, and wants to show the AFL he can be one of the best leaders of the next 10 years.

Given the weather, I'm not sure it was the right week to re-establish a 3 tall forward line. Have lost some genuine pace in the front half with Kent and Hannan so the bigs will need to be clean.

You should temper your expectations of a player who hasn't played for 20 months. And his previous 2 seasons at Essendon were average.

He's a powerful kick, but I'd hardly rate his ball use as elite. And as a defender, he's ok, but I don't see him as someone who can shut down a player like Tom Hawkins, let alone an elite key forward.

He fulfills a need in our backline, but my expectations aren't high. But he should offer more than hisย sidekick Melksham.

As some of you may have noticed, I've been concerned about the lack of originality in our players' nicknames. Adding a 'y' or an 's' just seems apathetic. Given his recent performances, perhaps we've found a new nickname for Jakey.

I'm not as confident as some about this one seeing as we couldn't even beat Freo who are very average. It really depends if the team is switched on and plays with AFL standard intensity for the full 4 quarters....a repeat of last week's disgusting 3rd quarter and we won't get it done.

The love for Kent is odd. He has had a shocking start to the season, both defensively and in front of goal. A small forward who hasn't laid a tackle and can't kick goals. What a loss!
He has stuff he needs to improve on, and luckily we have replacements in the VFL who deserve their chance.

Like everyone else, I don't know how Melksham is still in the team after his putrid performance last week. I guess tonight is last chance saloon for him.ย

It's just perfect at the G now, but the radar looks ominous for rain. ย I hope for the day when I can feel confident. I remember the 90s, and the early 60s (sigh). ย Hope it's not too far around the corner.

ย

Go Dees.

There will only be a light shower for about 20 minutes I reckon. ย Be great if it came at half time.

Rioli, Butler, Castagna.ย

Best of luck to both JKH and Hibberd on their returns to AFL footy.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
