Anyone who thinks that B&Fs are influenced by nothing more than player performance are fools. Adelaide have stupidly reduced his trade value in the name of revenge. Dumb footy!

Pick 10 or nadda. Hardball.

Overs according to their own last two B&Fs.

Can't have your cake and eat it too.

A Team with Sloane, Tex, Crouch, Betts playing for peanuts while in their premiership window, upset that a young player that will reach his peak in 4 years won't help them deliver more premierships in the future on a peanut pay packet. I feel so much sympathy for them.

Peanuts hey. No wonder they lost the Grand Final, they must be all monkeys.

They say, you get what you pay for.

Which week were they told by his Manager that he was gone?

All of those players were better than him this season.

I'm not sure what the final top 10 is, but here it is with one game to go.

He made the AA squad, but not top 10 in their B&F.  Hmmm

I've said it multiple times, he should not have been in AA squad based on output.

A 1st and 2nd is a very generous offer and should be taken off the table if Adelaide don't accept it on the opening day.

Adelaide should be happy with pick 10 only then.

Agreed pick 10 is fair

He didn’t make the AA squad, only the 40 man shortlist.

AA squad refers to the 40man short-list before its culled to make the AA team.

My apologies for the above, you learn something new everyday.

Something is not right here. I smell a rat. Don't forget Jack Gunston won the best young Player several years ago at Adelaide & because he requested a trade back home they stripped that award off him. How come Jake Lever was told not to attend yet Charlie Cameron was there & he has requested a trade aswell yet he is contracted. Not sure what to make of all of this

Just doing some rough math with Jake Lever's 750k a year contract. It's 6.02% of the salary cap. If we gave them two first round picks and they developed into decent players then they're going to be on 450-550 per year within a few years which is 8.50% of the cap. Whereas #10 and #27 are going to net you a 450-500k a year player and an average to slightly above average players wage at 371k which is going to be around 6.66% of the salary cap. Closer to the mark.

Are we paying for his potential? If so then he's going to want 900k a year if he truelly becomes elite. Then that's about 7.23% of the cap. So that would mean Melbourne could possible do a pick swap or upgrade that pick 27 to a pick 22 or so to get the deal done. Two first round picks is still too much.

It’s hillbilly heaven in Adelaide atm.

They r the laughing stock of the afl and deservingly so.

Its actually helped me out a smile on my dial which hasn’t happened since rd23.

Didn't they recruit Matt Crouch with the pick we gave them for Bernie?

They should thank us.

Pick 45 should get it done.

Yeah, he slid quite a long way from where he was expected to drafted if I remember correctly

That will help.

Makes Matthews comments look like dribble.

You have to love Demonland.

Lever fails to poll in the top 10 at the crows B&F. There are two contradictory responses:

  1. It is clear evidence that the crows must have rigged the voting (out of spite? - must be because it makes little sense to deliberately under value him if you know you are going to negotiate draft picks ) because as we all know Lever is one of their best players, an AA no less (yes, yes, i know) who has had the best season ever for any young defender - better than Rance at the same age!
  2. Are the crows crazy asking for two first rounders?

My response:

  1. I'm going to love watching the live stream of the bluey on Monday and watch Tmac's younger brother come top 10

We shouldn't wait on Adelaide drawing this out until the 11th hour of trade period to get this deal done.

Mahoney to come out and publicly say that we'll open to trades with other clubs with 10 and or 27 and pick Jake out of the PSD.

What about this scenario:

We pull our offer and only offer pick 10 based on BF performance. Crows chuck the sads. JL announces he is going into the draft a la Luke Ball and will only play for the Dees, otherwise will sit out the season. No other side will take the risk and he comes to us at 10 either way.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
