Mahoney can trade back into the draft. The bloke knows what he is doing.

Yes I am sure it is a team effort but give the guy a break!

We're getting closer. This years 1st rounder and next years 1st rounder for Lever plus pick 18 which Adelaide get for Cameron. Seems like swapping of other picks as well.

This will leave us without a 1st rounder next year, but picks 18 and 27 this year isn't too bad.

Plus possibly pick 20 for watts that leaves us with

lever 18, 20, 27 could easily package that up for a better pick or good mid

Why not 10 and 20 for lever?

Cos thats too much.

Hes not worth two top 20 picks, you don't just add an asset especially when pick 20 is so valuable.   We would need something back.

I'm sorry, this has been said multiple times, but they say 'next year is a super draft' every year. Build for now. Worry about next year, next year.

Eh. How many super drafts have Sydney, Hawthorn and Geelong not been part of the past decade? We have a core group of youngsters set. It's about filling in the pieces now which Lever helps do.

Let me get this right. He was taken pick 14 (probably pick 3 on count back of that draft now). Now has 50 games investment in him, enough to be an AA squad member at 21 yet is not worth 10 and 20. What would you want for an out of contract Petracca? I am not saying we pay 10 and 20 but if thats what ends up being required it is fair value.

Id gladly give up those picks for Lever, but would want a 3rd rounder back.

Gotta love the managers. Connors upset that we want to get a good deal for a contracted player, because we are willing to trade him.

I would have thought at least we are showing some respect for Jack, in seeking suitable compensation, rather than clearing him for pick 90.

In reality though does that matter to him or us (mfc)

Paul is for Jack. Mfc isnt.

Tex and his texans have dropped their collective bundles. Too many drinking from the Torrens currently.

Tex and his fellow indignants might possibly take a moment to reflect as to the why of the many leaving the Crows before uttering such nonsenses.

A question to Adelaide, might Lever actually be leaving for MORE and sustained SUCCESS ?  He's entitled to the money, it's footy; but before you can place one above the other in argument you might want to be able to back it up. Adelaide are conjuring hypotheticals as though they were FACT then adjudicating upon this.

Possibly Adelaide has looked in the mirror and not liked what it has seen and so has to start blaming folk for their failures. So, let's start pining the "deserting rats" !!

Adelaide are full of more "rats" just waiting to leave too.  The Crows are in a murderous mood but they'll be the ones taken down a peg or two I sense in 2018.  Many will play but not with their hearts in it.

Better open another  Bin 407 chaps...

I reckon that the Power will be the next SA premier team.  Sometime in the next 15 Years.

I just cannot see the Crows calling anything much at all in the next little while, after their pizzy little tanties.

They need a dose of instant concrete, to settle that nerve condition they have over there.

I have a vision of 'the tail', wagging away all on its own.

I took the article as saying what you've said, but we hand over our Watts compo as well...so:

Out: Pick 10, next years 1st round pick and Watts compo pick.

In: Lever, pick 18 (if Cameron deal gets done)

What, do you think we'd get a better player at Pick 16 next year, compared to what we would get at Pick 10 this 2017 draft?

I don't think so.

Thanks.  That might take some thinking. Maybe get Crows 2018 2nd or 3rd round as a sweetener back to us

Really? For better or for worse Jack is contracted by the Club for two more years but in its dealings has made it very difficult for him to come back to the fold. They asked him to explore his options and pretty much the least they can do is let him go where he feels like he may have the best chance to succeed rather than what suits the MFC.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
