One thing that stands out, and I think someone else mentioned it, is that we're a little too tall in the forward line.  It doesn't matter too much tonight, but we can't go in to Round 1 with Hogan, Watts, Weideman and Spencer there.  Saints will kill us on the rebound.

Neither team is playing with much rhythm and there isn't a lot of urgency from either side at this stage. Almost feels like going through the motions to build some match fitness.

ANB is staking his claim for perhaps a defensive half forward role, Oliver has been in everything and Weideman gets to the right spots... but that's about it for us.

 

FWIW- that Tyson kick was a howler, but no one was willing to run hard enough to create a free option for him- everyone was waiting for the siren.

Those last moments of the quarter still proves we have a lot to learn even when it comes to experienced senior players. 

I love Jonesy but he handballed to a still player facing the wrong way, and from there it all went wrong. Tyson then did what I can only describe as a brain fart, kicking it right across goal to no one in particular. Lucky not to concede a goal there. 

How we're playing isn't perhaps as bad as it sounds on paper, we need to get control over our skills and make the dominance in the ruck pay off.

Really not not a Harmes fan. Good overhead but his ball use just isn't good enough,

Again, another turnover kills us.  The Harmes kick inside 50 was poor.  The ball movement to get there was terrific, with O Mac taking a risk across ground that paid off.
