Just got back from a 100 kilometere wild goose chase to Casey Fields and back.

I arrived at 1.50, walked round the ground from the car park in the paddock, queued up to pay and saw the sign 'Cash Only'.

I asked if there was an eptpos facility nearby, he replied in the nearest shopping centre. I said this is a troglodyte sham, he said, 150 others have said that.

I walked back to my car and drove home.

Goodbye Casey Fields, I'll not be going back.

Its called planning your day.

Who plans their day in 2017 to the extent that one must assume that an AFL fixture is played at a venue that doesn't have eftpos facilities? I can understand it in an under-age suburban competition but there were thousands of people there.

In thisday and age no eftpos is ridiculous. Wife does markets and even we have mobile eftpos pay facility.

Agree with Dieter, very poor, last century thinking.

Strange. Just yesterday I tried depositing some cash into an account at a bank near your homeland. I was told they don't deal with cash anymore. ?!

Agree its 2017 yet Casey must think its 1977. Get the mobile eftpos.

ANZ charges us (an northern suburbs sporting club)  $20/mth for a machine.  It pays for itself in 3 minutes !! Good for the canteen especially.

Casey Fields is a bot like Stalingrad, now that you mention it, flat, desolate and populated by people from yesteryear, shall we say?

(i do agree it's not rocket science, but if i'd done a 100km roundtrip i would've gone to the local atm and not spat the ole dummy)

I have heard that many people in Casey take cash, (and anything else portable that you don't tie down) especially if you don't hang on to you wallet very carefully.

Not a problem for members.

Silly not to carry some cash anyway. They should have just let you in.

It goes further though. No one carries much in cash nowadays. So what occurs when you want that pie ( possibly a good thing to be saved from rethinking ?) or beer etc. A LOT of folk just wave the phone or card.

I know ...requires 21c thinking...

Casey Fields is more like Albania than Russia.

Your doing Albania a disservice.

Albania has its drawbacks but it is more interesting.

And in many out of the way towns they have EFTPOS.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
