Nice win. Numbers at the ball and cleaner quicker disposal, quicker across the ground. Clearance work rate slowly improved as the game went on also.

The Pies will be lucky to win a match I reckon.

Apart from one or 2 players they are horribly top heavy and slow across the ground and apart from that first half, with significant umpiring assistance from No.5, they were terribly scrappy/unco and fumbled too often with ball in hand. Similar to last week but this week managed to put a quarter of footy together early, as well as finding Mo one on one a few times.

I've got to say, if the AFL is going to televise and promote the game, ensure the fundamental rules of the game are enforced .i.e illegal disposal and caught in possession.  I'm sure the top women don't appreciate the 'go soft on the rules' approach adopted tonight. Go Dees

It was just umpire number 5, worst I've ever seen.

One thing the women do need to improve is bending down to pick up the ball, far too often they just didn't get low enough or go hard enough to collect a loose ball.

CB, it had to go beyond one umpire. There were just too many non - decisions. A win's a win but...

Great effort by the women. Loved  Odea, Paxman, Duryea, Cat Phillips and number 24 looked really composed. Daisy turns the ball over more than I expected.

O'Dea was really important using her size and power in the contests. Collingwood were dominant inside, but we really got on top in the game when she started bullying the midfield.

There are some good young players who look like they can play, but need games. Berry is one of them who does some great things, but not often. She could be a dominant player with her power and skills, but isn't involved enough yet.

We broke them open with our pace and dare in the second half. That will be good as the years go on.

Umpire number 5 should be investigated

I undertook that investigation. It was actually Nathan Buckley in disguise but that #5 was a dead give away.

Asked him why ? Said he had no understanding of the rules ( something we don't know ! )  , just wanted to garner some first hand tips for the lads .

As he turned and left he tapped his nose in that knowing way ;)

Got QB in the bag :P

Was great to see Eddie's smug look at half time wiped off his face.

Would love to know what was said at half time (actually said, not just what they told the media). Completely shifted the mindset and approach.

Best comeback so far in the league- sets a good standard for us in the future. Go Dees!

The lighting there tonight was worse than the Casey night games!

Was great to be there to see their first official win, and sing the song with a bit of gusto.

The ball movement was quicker in the second half, we took more overhead marks than them and Phillips kicked a couple of great goals.

O'dea and Paxman the best for mine

Always great to beat collingwood!

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
