What you say , well , says it all. Scorpions a little in no mans land, at a time the Dees were all at see. We've been each others crutch whilst also being each h others bane I'm sure.

Rebranding reminds me of the Stangs becoming the BH Hawks. Done neither any harm

I love it!  I said this should happen after the VFL granny when while I was there I felt no connection to the team whatsoever.

I think the only difference in jumper will be the sponsors.  This is good stuff, very happy with this decision.

I like that someone brought up the jumper issue, I know PJ said exactly what got sent to us in many of the reply emails that people received but what was his demenor like when explaining the reasoning? Was he filled with rage or just going through the motions to answer the question quickly and move on?

I love the idea of tbe casey demons. Good points kc. Id add casey mught also get some new supporters from the mfc base.

Great to see the red and dark blue back. As a kid i loved the vfa. I followed port but used to like watching dandenong who wore the red and dark blue (i think - my memory is a bit dusty)

Just another thought on the rebranding.

The old Dandenong VFA side was known as the Demons (and I think a Dandenong side plays in a local competition branded as the Demons as well). Here's an opprtunity to extend the connection all the way up to Dandenong which is up the road to the city from Casey and which has a large and diverse community. I note we also have an existing connection because the Dandenong Stingrays which is one of our feeders for the new academy system.

Makes sense to me that we also foster Dandenong as well as the Casey-Cardinia-Gippsland regions.

Just googled dandenong vfa. I was right about colours. I had forgotten their nickname was redlegs. Which is funny because thats what i call the demons (i thought mainly because i supported norwood but this might have also influenced me)

Disappointed that we weren't given the opportunity of having the Casey Demons playing a curtain raiser to one of our senior games (http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-12-15/curtainraisers-feature-in-2017-vfl-draw).

I hope this is the last we publicly recognise Jordan Lewis as our maiden "destination club" man.  Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited about him coming to us as anyone, but he's now part of the 40-odd players on our list that, a list that needs all players determined to have success.  He brings so much to this club, let him just do it like he plays, by getting down and dirty, to a high standard and with minimal fuss.

Sorry for what would comes across as a negative from what seemed to be a very positive meeting.  Bring on 2017!

"diplomat" and "fiery" aren't words that usually go together to describe one person.

I think you might find that playing a game or two in China might help to endear them to the local Chinese Australian population. I would expect that rather than play in Beijing or Shanghai however, they would play in Guangzhou where an AFL academy was established at one of the universities and where there is a competition in existence.

A great AGM last night with a great atmosphere all round

PJ signed to 2018 - a great club is created not on the back of one man but by unified group of people. The board develop the agenda and strategy and management execute it. Credit should go to all levels of management starting from Glen Bartlett, his leadership, his board PJ, his team  the footy department, players and every one else that work within our club. That's success!

Its interesting how Jackson is going about it. He has possibly an eye on the door but I think he genuinely want teh Club to be successful. Until we hold a cup up..PJ will be at the helm...he's smitten

Thanks everyone for the run downs of the evening, it's nice to be entering the AGM with hope and positive feelings. 

Fantastic that PJ has re-signed for another year, I do wonder if he has some kind of exit strategy in place where when he feels it's appropriate he will look at a replacement or grooming a replacement. For now I'm just really happy he's still with us. 

The Casey announcement was a surprise but one I've felt needed to happen. Prior to PJ and Roosy it felt like we were only half in it with Casey, like they were almost a burden we needed to put up with. The links have since grown a lot stronger and them being rebranded the Casey Demons will hopefully mean more Dees fans feel a tighter connection to them. 

I don't feel that getting our own stand alone VFL is necessary to our success so for the near future this is the next best thing. 

The AGM sounds like it was a positive bookend to an improved year all round.
