We have never been a destination club for the True "A" Grade players and probably never will be!

Plenty of very good players wanting move, none to the MFC.

If Michael Hibberd is all we can do I would call this draft period a massive fail!

And the tradition continues!

I think we showed enough last year to continue to develop the processes and talent put in place.  I for one dont care too much about this trade period and I am not jealous of the likes of hawthorn and geelong.  For once there is true optimism in where we are heading and I dont think we need to do too much - they on the other hand are trying to extend their "window"  We are not yet at the window...the type of players you speak of will want to come to us soon enough

Simple equation: Good off-field culture + On field success = Destination club.

We have one part of this equation sorted.

Build it, and they will come.

All of this 'destination club' rubbish is starting to give me the sheeeits.

I don't really GAF at the moment. We have a young core of talented players that will make us great without relying a jet nominating us. What relevance does it really have?

Build a bridge.

Maybe we should put Oliver up for trade and see what we get???

....only joking 'picket', remember this time last year?

It was the work done around this time that got us the picks to bring in Oliver and the Weed.

...and we have been a destination club in the past and look where it got us. Templeton, Moore, Diamond Jim.....the list goes on.

Would rather develop our own and cherie pick along the way.

Hibberd is a good get for us, but would you rather have Vickery?

We did get Jesse, mr pickett.

The Doggies got Boyd.  The Dogs won without being a 'destination club'.  We can too.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
