Kobe Farmer

We might miss out on Kobe, but there are other F/S possibilities coming up.

From MFC article May 2018 (so add a couple of years to the ages quoted to see where they are now)

"Watch list: Jeff White's son Kalani, 11, is another the club is keeping an eye on while he plays his footy for Surfers Paradise in Queensland. White also has twin sons named Kai and Tahj, still only seven years old. Adem Yze's son Noah, 12, Aaron Davey's son Marley, 8, David Schwartz' son Cooper, 14 and Shane Woewodin's son Taj, 15, are others on the Demons' radar, although admittedly they are all very young. Defender Nathan Brown also has three sons – Kynan, 13, Jake, 11, a talented soccer player, and Ryder, 9."

A quick google search shows that he is well and truly a Fremantle recruit in waiting.

(assuming, of course, he is good enough)

That's ok, we've got Kozzi now!

Only if you normally think that way, JSK.

Disagree. There's nothing stopping us to put a bid in on the night if he's worthy. We could have done it for Green (GWS) at pick 3 this year.

I understand he's aligned with Freo via their academy as well as father/son, I am curious if our father/son still carries any weight with relation to the rules.

Regardless, any club can bid on him come draft night.

What about Kozzi Pickett and Kobe Farmer in the forward line together....? ;)

Yes, but Freo, I believe, will have the right to match any bid on draft night - we won't have that opportunity.

(If he and Freo make a father/son agreement prior to the draft.)

I watched the blues brothers on the weekend with the kids. Love that film. My teenage kids didn't know what to make of it. My son couldn't stand the musical interludes. And found it too surreal.

Like Life of Brian really just a series of connected comedy sketches. But like Life of Brian it works.

He has the choice to chose if he wishes to nominate with us under Father/Son or nominate with them under Father/Son/Academy. If he chooses us, only we can match a bid. Same if he chooses Freo, only they can.

It's similar with a Bulldogs player who chose not to nominate with Sydney a few years ago under Father/Son because he didn't want to go there as his family was in East Gippsland and thus Sydney could not match any bids.

The player has to nominate if they wish to go to a club under the rules of Academy or Father/Son, the club can not nominate for them.

Note: The Club also has to accept taking the player under those rules for them to nominate a club. Essentially, both parties must agree for nomination.

Yes, but being part of the Fremantle Academy, living in Western Australia and (seemingly) being a Freo supporter... all signs point to him and Fremantle agreeing to father/son.

I'm sure when he time comes, we'll pay the farmer family a visit.  But between then and know we need to be far more successful on the field to be viable option in terms of career success.

Yes I agree they do. At present he's favouring towards them but that shouldn't stop us working to get him to select us over the next couple of years. On field success should certainly help. From reports his father is more of a Melbourne man as well. Even if he doesn't I hope we can work it so if we do indeed bid on him he's not disappointed to come over, e.g. his initial decision was a tough one to make.

I just hope the club plays the political game and at least works to get in his ear early. If he's that good of a talent we'd be foolish not to.

If he’s good enough to make AFL, he’s going to Freo. All the developments last year posted in this thread show he’s not coming to us. He already trains with them as part of their academy. He’s a Freo supporter. Nat Fyfe is his idol. He lives in WA with his family. His mother is a Freo supporter, has has health issues, and doesn’t travel to Melbourne anymore for health reasons. When Jeff was interviewed last year, he said he hopes Kobe plays for Freo and can wear his number 33.

Regardless, he missed the U18 WA team and is speculative at this point.  The only way he’s coming to us is if he’s not good enough to be drafted and we grab him for nothing, in which case he’s not good enough so why bother.

Speculative rookie pick?

Yes, he is 8 months older than the last post.

I'm pretty sure I'm at least 4 years older than I was eight months ago.

Forget him, he is going to play for the Dockers.  Makes no sense for him to pick the Demons if he grew up in Perth.

Watched it with my kids too - 12 & 13. Kinda dug it. Been saying, "hut, hut, hut, hut," ever since..."

I sure loved it. One of a kind....
