I think Brayshaw (the wimp) not ours (the gun) has overstepped the mark with the 4% of games over 3 years quip. Wells has played 31 games in three years, and unless there are 258 games per season then Brayshaw is talking absolute excrement (as usual) Wells has played close to 50% and he was injured playing football, not skateboarding.

I would understand the dissapointment from their perspective if he left now, they've been extremely patient with him over a long period of time given his injury history and he's been paid extremely well the entire time, i do think what Brayshaw said was a reflection of that frustration and probably a good indication that Wells is either out the door already or they strongly suspect he will be very soon.

We could justify that comment in relation to Dawes, but when he did play, Wells' output was at a high level.

It really was a stupid comment by an outgoing president of a club that is on the nose.

Sounds like sour grapes to me DC, he has played 19 games this year and when he missed games it was because he got injured playing footy. Lots of players get injured playing footy, do we hear grizzles from GC about O'Meara or Prestia?

agree, poor form. the sort of comment that can backfire easily, and a president shouldn't get embroiled (at least publicly) with list management.

And Collingwood - do they have a recruiting strategy in place?

It seems oddly like their strategy is save Buckleys career - which could end up going horribly wrong. Fingers crossed! ;)

I think the pies contracted him for one year too many. They are going after experience to try and crack finals next season.

Buckley needs a top 8 appearance in 2017 if he wants to keep his job. Wells, Mayne and allegedly Rockliff could elevate the pies to play finals.

Amazed Wells got 3 years.....

As Damien Barrett said about us, it seems completely scattergun. Seems like they hear a name bought up and just go for it.

I don't mind it actually. If his body holds up $600k is a good price and that money was probably going to be spent on Dane Swan who was already cooked prior to destroying his ankle. Getting rid of Cloke will free up a large chunk of wasted cap space too.

Mayne at $500k on the other hand appears to be a shocker that I'd say will go down in history alongside the likes of Quentin Lynch and Paul Medhurst.

I like Mayne…but I like $500k a hell of a lot more.

I reckon you could throw $600K at just about any young star in the competition and they would seriously consider jumping ship to Collingwood, assuming their own club wasn't coughing up similar cash in the second contract.

Bizarre going after Mayne and Wells with these prices. Consider that the Tigers secured Prestia for only $150k more, who is substantially younger!

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
