the only risk is 1. if the rumour is correct and 2. the person spreading the rumour is actually connected in the way they say they are

FTR, I'm not asking too much specificity on Chook's sources. I trust his MFC sources as he's consistently delivered. But to say Brisbane know nothing about it suggests either he's trying to pour cold water on it from Melbourne's end or he knows someone at the Brisbane end.

You're giving me far too much credit.

I shared this tail with someone who could verify both parties.

Fait accompli right now. But as I always say at this time of year, things fall all over.

Doesn't mean the rumours were wrong.

If they know nothing then this completely debunks the rumour right? Sorry to have to ask but I have two kids who aren't sleeping well at the moment...

I broke a story here about McCarthy coming to Dees as development coach. About half of people believed me. Fair story to put together if not true.

Who???

Ahh Macca. That's easier.

His name is Brendan McCartney in case you were wondering or needed it for any future claims you would like to make...

Starting to warm to the Rockliff idea, as long as we can get brisbanes 2nd round pick for 2017 instead of their pick 30. That way we would still have a half decent pick next year.

So would be gaining Rockliff, pick 19, Bris 2017 2nd rounder

giving up 2017 1st, pick 29

Autocorrect is a pain.

Kurt was spot on with his call when it happened because he spoke with Macca directly.

Why would Brisbane do either deal? Sounds far-fetched to me.

They could easily get better currency elsewhere. Mind-boggling if true (although that won't preclude me from being a very happy man).

Yes but which prayers? We really need some prayers with pace and skull, and ideally a forward/[censored].

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
