Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The Wrecker said:

Hartlett is headed to the Swans or the Demons. Won't be at Port next year.

Demons will have space for him as Viney and Brayshaw are headed to Saints or Port. Won't be at Melbourne next year.

Even as a wind up, that is comical.

Terrible effort at becoming the new Nudge.

Brett Anderson on SEN reporting that North and Richmond both have huge interest in Hartlett

This stuff is almost getting as bad as the transfer window in soccer. I can recall Manchester United being linked with about 250 players over the course of a few months.

North and Richmond are flavour of the month, they'll get linked with everyone.

Just as a thought.. Readings elsewhere suggest our pick 6 might not be absolutely necessary. Its possible a slightly later pick..10/11 might also do this trade , if indeed theres one to be had.

If thats the case Id be looking to find a swap/trade that went something like.. Howe or Watts...plus pick 6.... for some very decent mid and a pick around 10. This pick goes to Port for Hartlett

am i just dreaming...or some merit ?

I think your imaging trading with the suns for their 2nd pick which is around Pick 10ish. so a howe, or a wattsy+ may get some nibbles? Then P-10 + a player to Port may get the Hartlett thingo going ?

why on earth would Port get rid of a key midfielder for any of the suggested trades?

They will be pushing very hard for top four next year. Having Watts and/or Howe or a pick isnt going to take them to that top echelon of teams next year.

With that in mind surely Hamish himself wouldn't leave a club like that to come to Melbourne. i'm not trying to be negative. But he is 25 yrs old. If he is not injured next season he will be in his prime playing for a Premiership.

Baffles me. I'm not trying to say I wouldn't love him at Melbourne. But not sure about the why...

Port probably are trying to sort out team balance, so may need a tall from the GCSuns? so need to trade, to get the required pick to trade to say the GCSuns.

I'm gonna try and hold my excitement until someone with some credibility come out and says its being discussed. So far all we have is dear old Demonland spawn 7 pages of speculation off very little more than a single unsubstantiated sentence.

I love this time of year.

its being discussed, watchtheeyes. but don't get too excited, nothing worse than a crack'a going off in the hand

Deal is perfect.

Everyone wins.

Effectively we give #6 for Hartlett. We get pick 24 for Howe. That's fair currency.

Hartlett walks in as a Top 5 player to MFC ... and remember Howe's 2015 was average at best. An early 2nd rounder is fair.

no its not, its a game of bluff atmo IMO.

#scenario 1/

Melbourne trade Howe to GCS; for P-10ish

Melbourne trade P-10ish + +?????, to Port; for Hartlett

Port trade P-10ish, to GCS for tall forward/ruck ?

Melbourne keep P-6

...............................

then possibly use P-6 in the draft, OR as part of trade bait for a Prestia ?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#scenario 2/

Melbourne trade P-6 + ???, to Port; for Hartlett

Port trade P-10/11ish to GCS for tall forward/ruck ?

Melbourne trade Howe to ????? for ?????

........................

Melbourne have no 1st Rnd picks ?

-----------------------------------------------------

this I think maybe the holdup?

Apparently North & Richmond are leading, although still lots to happen before a trade gets talked about seriously. Those two clubs are desperate to land players that will push them into serious contention.

Not necessarily. If the Crows match Geelong's offer as expected, there could be a long drawn out trade negotiation, and the Crows would have to factor in Danger's salary until the trade is done. Can't see how they could sign Hartlett until the Danger trade is completed.

hmmmn. so could we throw a $panner into the water$, to $low the 'field?

If Richmond and North are offering 5/6 year deals, we better bloody well have a 7 year deal with even bigger money in front of him.

Salem and Hartlett off half back with both capable of pushing in to the middle.. so good.

We'd have no chance of landing Josh Kelly.

Future superstar - GWS think he has a Brownlow in him.

Will it require surgery to remove? Or perhaps it will pass naturally

I was going to pass something witty but first I must go and do a Charlie.

?? chan, or chaplain ?? or a Brownlow

^_^

North Melbourne and Richmond are offering Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett $750k a season over 5 years according to Tony Sheahan.

Jeepers. Richmond I think wouldn't be too bad a fit for him, but I'm not sure about North, they are about to fall off the edge of the cliff.

Except in this case the "rumour" was started by the Chief Football Writer for a major metropolitan newspaper who, according to her fans, has x rays vision, can hear through walls and is able to leap buildings in a single bound,

Out of interest, when did Caro first mention HH & Melbourne?

North?

How can they afford to pay their "home grown" players when shelling out for Dal Santo, Waite and then Higgins?

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
