I read with interest Sam Frost's comments

"Frost said playing fast and attacking football suited his game."

“It’s been good The coaches have been really positive with me and I’m still making a lot of mistakes, but trying to make less and less each week.

“We want to play fearless football and take the game on, and that’s a bit of a strength of mine at times,” he said.

“Hunty (Jayden Hunt) has been doing the same thing, so it just comes down to the polish and decision-making, but you’re trying to be aggressive and attacking with it.”

It is apparent to me that whilst the coaches obviously want no turnovers, they want the likes of Frost and TMac to take the game on at every opportunity - this will mean there will be turnovers but the coaches are probably going to accept that. The likes of Dunn do not turn the ball over as much as Frost and TMac but Frost and TMac offer much more in terms of offense than Dunn or Garland and that is why the latter two are playing at Casey.

Gah that game against North I was fuming when we had the wind at our backs in the last down by a couple of goals and Dunn had the ball just holding it up, couldnt be blamed for thinking he thought we were infront his ball movement was that slow. 

Small rant aside I love the message coming from the coaches. Fearless football is why we won on Saturday. Going into the last looking to win it not to avoid losing.

Worst thing in that story is Jayden Hunt being called 'Hunty'. Really? That's his nickname?

Should be Mike.

After adding "y" to end end of a surname, or if you're getting really off the wall, the first name (Matty, Jeffy), the highest level of achievement is to subsititue a former player's first name. Hence Hunt could be "Rex". But that's asking a bit much.

Roos is famous for just adding a "y" to everyones surname as their nickname.

On the JunkTime podcast the other day they were ripping into Travis Cloke for some answers he gave to a player profile type interview in the footy record. Amongst other answers, he listed his nickname as "Trav" 

My mate, whose surname is Hunt, has the nickname 'Yorick'.

Except in his own case where it is an ey.

i always wondered (pre social media days) ted, whether the addition of "wi" sound for a nick was meant to be spelt with a "y" or an "ie" 

there is also the other creative option of adding an "o", but in your case fidgey works better than fidgeo

All this talk about young Jaydeny Hunty reminds me of an old story about old Goughy Whitlam in parliament. Some MP was speaking and kept saying "I am a Country member! I am a Country member!"

One of my biggest gripes with Dunny was he would allow the ball to go out of bounds when he was clear and could have kept it in.  This was, I suppose, so they could reload with a stoppage, but it may have been because he was playing it safe and didn't have the confidence to get the ball moving.

The majority of the players now will do anything they can to keep the ball in play and that has nothing to do with the DOB rule, it is just the desire to play on and attack.

I'm a 'Hunt'. I've copped them all - 'Mike', 'Phil Mike' and so on. 

My grandad's nickname was 'Pork'. 

I used to tell the kids at school my dad was Rex.
