GAMEDAY - Round 19

Are we tanking?

Oh Billy, Billy, Billy....

Jack Watts kicks for goal and 30 seconds later takes a goal-saving mark in the backline. Now that's effort.

Should have gone to Spec savers..

For what? We're playing a team that has our draft pick. Tanking for pick 25 instead of 27?

To tank supposes you can do better but aren't.

Melbourne supporters are fed up. They're actually booing their own team for their stupidity. Meanwhile Jason Dunstall is going skiing.

The most annoying thing is that we've allowed ourselves to be dragged down to their level.  They knew they couldn't be a shootout so they turned it in to a scrap, and we've allowed it to happen.  Not good enough.

Jason Dunstall - "I'm going skiing".

I think I'll join him.

Great job vanders... and it took our key forward to show how to deliver the ball inside 50

Vanders gets a much needed goal in the siren

Yet again I wake up on the other side of the world interested to see where the game is at. Last week it was close and I was excited, this week it's close and I'm frustrated.

The Dees should come with a health warning on the side of the membership.

Crashed into him otherwise known as a collision. I didn't say anything about the head.

If you think thats reportable then maybe you should switch on the Vixens game.

Maybe you'll need to reread the rules of this sport. It's illegal to bump someone attempting to mark. He did not contest the mark, he was late, and just crashed into him getting him high. The impact forced him from the field.

Where is Dawes?

He took that mark and kicked that goal and went "Right, that's my coin earned for the year."

This hurts my head to watch.

Also, what happened to the concept of 'front-on'?

Worst game of football.

Absolutely rising to new heights of ways to [censored] up at evety opportunity we can.

Genius move by Roos to bring VDB back in straight away? Given his form today, i'd say Roosy just got lucky.

Our twin towers forward line of Jack Watts and Aaron Vandenberg is just unstoppable today(!).

Jones, Jones and Vince - seniors of the team - They need to lead the way - where are they?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
