His 20 possessions include 8 inside 50's, 5 rebound 50's and 2 score assists.

Hes a total weapon all over the ground.

Hunt or McDonald will surely be a lock for a nomination this week. Both were terrific.

What a gem this kid is. Behind Gawn as one of the reasons we've taken such a big step forward. No [censored] around in the backline with this kid.

Lumumba's woes are a blessing in disguise.

Can't believe Pedo didn't finish that goal that Hunt created.

That Pedersen miss was the beginning of a run of terrible misses.

On Hunt, I just can't believe how quickly he's progressed. Even in the NAB Challenge games this year he didn't look that special but that's all changed.

Will be a champion of the club.

I'm happy to put my hand up and admit I didn't think this guy would/should be on our list this year.  Not sure why, possibly because he hadn't had a decent crack at it due to injury, but I felt he was an easy "target" to delist.  I was clearly wrong.

It's an absolute credit to this kid, and the FD, that he is getting rewarded for the difficult times he faced in his first couple of season.

Just shows how much (or little) we know about list management.

That said, I'm not sure if he'll be a "champion of the club".

Love his evasive skills and how rarely gets caught.  Even when he comes close to getting caught he manages to squeeze out a pass somewhere up field and usually without just coughing it up straight back to the opposition.

Re the Rising Star, asides from his occasionally ordinary foot skills passing into the forwardline or shooting for goal, I actually think Hunt looks more like a seasoned player rather than a first year one.  Perhaps that's why he hasn't been nominated yet - doesn't look enough like a first year player to the judges.

Different sort of player, but Hunt impacts games just as much as Patracca, who incidently also just keeps improving and going from strength to strength at the elite level.  Can't wait to see what these guys can produce for us over the next few seasons!

Hard to believe that many were suggesting him as a probable delisting this time last year.

Now one of our most important pieces, because no one else gives us the line-breaking he provides. It renders opposition defensive structures inadequate, forcing adjustments that give us more space to operate with the ball when looking for gaps on the flanks.

Ok - this week Hunt has had 20 touches and O Mac has had 23. Let's look at the competition so far -

WB - Cordy (2 goals, 8 touches), Webb (13)
Coll - Maynard (10), Phllips (9)
Brisbane - Jansen (12), Keays (8), Smith (6), Hipwood (8)
Carlton - Silvangi (3 goals, 8), Cunningham (7)
Hawthorn - Burton (10)
North - Dumont (18)
GWS - Kennedy (12)
WC - Barass (6)
StK - McCartin (2 goals),
Syd - Hewett (1 goal, 20)
Port - Amon (20), Palmer (12), Austin (6)
Melb - O Mac (23), Hunt (20),

My mind there are 5 guys (bold) who are in with a chance this week thus far. On top of that be on the look out for today:

Ess - McKenna, Long
GC - Ah Chee, Garlett
Ade - N/A
Freo - Langdon
Geel - Kolodjashnij
Rich - Markov

I have a sneaky suspicion we are all going to be back on this thread angry again.

I suggested it.  Not because I "wanted" it though (I cringe whenever Redleg says this), it was just because most players don't get two years on the list with an output of zero unless they're a tall, even if they've been injured.  I plainly made the wrong call, but I'm still pretty comfortable with the logic I used to get there based on previous experience.  It will definitely have an effect on my future delisting considerations.

The club, with its actions - first in drafting Hunt in the National Draft when he probably would have fallen to the RD, and by retaining him this year, showed a level of faith in a struggling young player that I've never seen before.  It's paying huge dividends now.  This is why these guys (Roos, Mahoney, Viney, Taylor etc) get paid the big bucks.  This is the 'management' story of the year for mine.

I said it a while ago, happy to stick my neck out, don't do it often.

Also think he will be a leader.

Silvagni shouldn't win it. The Blues got done by one of the worst teams going. His 3 goal performance was overshadowed by the loss.

The dees went on the road to win it. Hunt was a vital cog in that win. He should get it if Oscar doesn't.

Players with Hunt's attributes are often soft.

He's not.  At all.

And neither am I when he has the ball
