GAMEDAY - Round 16

Featured Replies

We are losing this quarter. What does it take to get a 4 quarter effort?

FFS this is poor. We have no idea how to shut a game down. Instead we've given Freo a sniff and with two men down, it's very possible.

Really disapponting.

Kick in turnover by Watts now. Sick of this.

Don't let them back in this Melbourne...

That kick was about 7 metres FFS

They're on top.

Will be a close finish.

FFS Melbourne, foot to the throat. End this bloody game.

We just can't bury a team.

In fairness I think we burned a lot of petrol in the first half.

Garlett is not working hard enough.

I know we're a young team but we had absolute domination for 3 and a half quarters but haven't buried them. We need to learn to destroy a teams confidence and make sure the game is buried when we can.

I hate these NT games

Freo crowd, why do we play there.

Shut up Dermott.

Get a friggin goal

Garlett back to his old useless lazy ways. [censored] poor.

Jeffy having a dog of a night. <5 disposals?

We needed three quarter time.

You lot are never happy though.  Every game has twists and turns and we tired a little late and they kicked a few.  Big deal.  It's pathetic the way you guys react.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
