It’s just a shame he didn’t try to pull that with Jack Viney underneath a pack. I wonder how quickly he’d transform into ‘Beast Mode’ with an enraged Jack,

Birchall should be cited for his knee in the back of Oliver as well.

Matheison is a given. No intent for the ball. Only to maim Gawn

The Grub of The Year Award the last 6 years has been Toby Greene and this bloke second, daylight the rest of the field.

Yes but Toby Greene can play football. And play very well, at that.

Both unnecessary and designed to injure.

Know Mathieson is a scumbag, surprised by Birchall.

But can he hold onto a cup of coffee?!

Greene really is a star isn’t he, just a natural footy player.

Back in the day running into someone like that (shoulder charge, off ground, marking contest, no eyes on the ball, no arms up to spoil) would have been called "charging" and he would have got 4 weeks.

He also coat hangered Kossie from behind. Was again just an act intended to hurt and or maim. It was late after Kossie got rid of the ball. It was definitely reportable and really "old school" stuff that Dermie loves but most people including the AFL want out of the game. Dermie laughing going "oh yeah, just made him earn it, nothing wrong with that" Well yes there is Derm, they are cheap and cowardly shots and when delivered by a guy that has no other skill then get him out of there.

His only two acts that had any consequence out there were his hit on Kossie and then Gawn. These guys are champions of the game and need protecting. Same with guys going past the ball flight in order to put their knee into the back of players. Could end a career. Happens to Oliver all the time. It puts the lions in a bad light and he should be hounded out of the game.

Indeed. Not sighted nor cited by the MRO because the media ignored it.
And how was that to 50 to Max and down the ground from Kozzie.
Both were the acts of a frustrated untalented low life.

Birchall was in a genuine marking contest, nothing wrong with that. Was a hospital kick from Gus I think. The only positive was Birchall couldn't get his hands on the ball and gave away the free kick

As soon as he hit Max, I got a text instantaneously from a Geelong supporting mate denouncing it as a low act.

He is a bloke I am just mystified is still on a list. He’s good for a grand total of three things: ducking, sniping and giving himself undeserved monikers which in turn feed a vacuous media looking for their next gimmick to attract attention deficient viewers (see all the fuss over ‘The Weapon’ at Essendon in 2012).

He sh!tted me when I first saw him in 2016, and my opinion of him hasn’t improved since.

His opinion of himself exceeds his capability. He’s mouthy and dirty. I’d be embarrassed if he was on our team. Gross.

He would never get a game in our team. That he keeps getting a game at Brisbane shows their poor depth. Culturally he’s a cancer. I mean he’s also a crap player which doesn’t help.

Absolutely. Greene is a grub and a thug and I hate him but he’s a sensational player. Top 5 in the AFL when he’s on song.

They mentioned it in Fox, but only to give a few tips on how to better "hide" this type of indiscretion, with a bit of a laugh to go with it....pathetic!!!😡😡

Textbook definition of a [censored] bloke.

Just a disgrace of a human on the field, and with his comments about Sandy Hook, off field too.

The sooner he is consigned to the scrap heap of the AFL universe, the better.

It wasn't just the front on contact to Gawn. He also collected Kozzy high and late (can be seen in the game highlights at ~8:40). IMO that has more weight with the MRO. Likewise, the deliberate knee to the kidney of Oliver as he was going for the mark (Oliver was paid a free kick).

The game highlights only go for 7.56...

Hopefully Libba coat hangers him into next year as he attempts one of his academy round the neck stages this week

If Mathieson isn't the worst footballer in the league I don't know who is.

Probably one of the 50 or so who get delisted every year without playing a game in the AFL.

One fruitcake in that team is more than enough, carries on like he was just let out.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
