Any folks on here in education?  The teacher's side of the desk?  I'm a high school teacher and I know there are a few of you lurking around these forums...

Retired teacher since August last year, after 40 years. Been a Dees supporter since watching the '64 Grand Final.

Actually since this topic has been opened let me say that our education system is [censored] up beyond belief. I read today that Australia is falling behind on all educational measures - doesn't surprise me at all.

Being a teacher is the best way to live out your footballing fantasies by coaching kids and getting a day off school every few weeks. I've been doing it for 20 years.

Son of a teacher, was a longtime spouse of a teacher, big chunk of friends are teachers. Enrolled in secondary teaching... but they all warned me off it in time, for which I'm thankful.

Also did a lot of time in education stats for federal government.

They really are as bad as the stereotype up there, not a deep breath worth of pedagogical knowledge among them, and the bureaucracy really needs to leave teachers the ____ alone.
