What an awesome initiative. Well done DL. Perhaps they could do a monthly Q&A on here. Though i guess the club might get a bit nervous about that. Perhaps there concerns would be allayed if we get Saty to moderate it so only positive, affirming question and comments are posted

Apologies. I thought the players were told to stay off the forums. My mistake.

They very well may be told to stay away from reading forums. I took umbrage to the implication that those boys in particular were told to steer clear of their sponsors.

Nice choice. For some reason these two belong as a pair in my head. Our new age attacking defenders. Love it.

Also our banner was severely lacking in defenders so this evens it up nicely.

I seriously hope the players don't read this forum, nothing good would come of it. If you really feel the need to say something to a player, do it in person, not from behind a keyboard.

Great work Andy! Can you explain how the sponsorship thing works? Do all players usually get sponsors? Do some miss out?

What do the players get out of it? Does it effect the salary cap?

Did the sponsorships come exclusivly through demonland members donations/membership fees? Or did you have to put in some cash yourself?

There are 3 levels of Sponsorship. Gold, Silver and Bronze. They vary in price and rewards for the sponsors. Most players have Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors and some only have one or two levels. Hunt and Wagner both had the Silver level available so I took it. When I went to the Season Launch dinner I sat on the sponsors table with Maxy as my family are Silver Sponsors for him. Wagner was placed on our table and at the time he did not have a sponsor.

I don't believe the players get any financial benefits from the sponsorship. I might be mistaken but I believe it is just another fundraising activity for the club.

The donations and Demonland Memberships are a way for the users of Demonland to help contribute to the costs incurred in running the site. I recently had to double our server capacity and hence the monthly expenses wnet up and I hope users have noticed that the site hasn't crashed on match day for the past few weeks. I have always said that if there is anything left over in the kitty I would donate it back to the club. Part of that helped to pay for the sponsorship of these players. The rest was out of my own pocket but I'm happy to share that with the Demonland community so that we can support these guys through their careers at the Demons.

Marvellous Effort that.

These 2 guys just might epitomize what the new team is all about.

They are both raw but have no fear to attack the game.

I heard Robert Shaw talking about Jayden Hunt the other day when he coached him at BGS

We got him under the radar nicely...

Well done Andy.

Contact with sponsors yes, but do you think we could keep them out of reach of just a few of the more debauched or incoherent D'landers?  These guys are probably still young and impressionable you know.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
