Think 9th is sewn up now, 120pts ahead are the Cats.

Would have been 7th IF we rolled the Saints,.

But we didnt, on to next week where we get another crack

And I know Ablett is a legend of the Geelong Football Club, but if he was a Melbourne player doing what he's doing out on the ground with the opposition players now we'd be livid. This is the captain of Gold Coast. They've lost by 120 points, been humiliated and Ablett is still out on the ground, all smiles, having chats with all his mates.

Catch up with them during the week. Get off the field now. That's embarrassing.

Wow Port did it easily. I did not see that coming. I mean I just thought Richmond would bounce back with there ins. But good on Port. It will be all Dimma next week. All eyes will be on them next friday night when they play the hawks. Who do Richmond have to come back apart from Rance. Yarran? Yeah he is going to help them.

Not sure if its a good thing or not to play a team coming off a 100 plus point win. But im pretty sure we still have confidence in our game than GC.

Anyway we are 9th.

Ablett all laughs and smiles with Geelong players after his team gets belted by 120 points.

I would be filthy beyond belief if my captain was behaving like that, beyond unacceptable. Go have a bloody coffee with your buddies tomorrow morning if you want a social catch up!

Sadly the 8 is just about locked.

This years pretenders the Suns have been exposed.

Next year for us.

Pretty clear to me now, there's only 9 contenders for finals this year and we're one of them. Sadly the top 8 is usually locked after round 6, and I fully expect 8th placed West Coast will shut down Collingwood tomorrow by a sizeable margin.

We desperately need wins in the next 2 weeks to stand a chance, or else it's curtains for 2016.

Who would've thought after today's effort that we'd actually move up a spot on the ladder?!?

We will beat GC next week... I'm happy to bet my left nut on it :o

Such an irony being 9th.  Had we won we would have displaced Hawthorn in the 8.

That would have been a beautiful thing.

We would've been 7th for at least 24 hours, until West Coast [censored] on Collingwood. Sigh.

Indeed and my plan for turning my Hawthorn-supporting fiancée into a Melbourne supporter (9 years in the making) may have had some momentum. :P But not to be this week.

That man is pretty good though.

But you're right - stop Lynch and you go some way to stopping GC.

We'd leave him loose all night like Reiwoldt.....

I hope I'm wrong, I did tip us the last 3 weeks, but looking at who's above us it's going to get tough. Still a few wins left in the season and we're a chance to take a big scalp or two before the years out.

Yeah a bit strange that we gain a spot after losing. But that's a positive.

Port kick the first 2 goals of the last quarter. Now up by 33.

Small crowd there tonight.  Official attendance at the MCG tonight is 27,07. Wow I know its a saturday night but geez the tigs fans have dropped off.

Maybe they should have played an interstate team at Etihad SO WE COULD AT LEAST PLAY ST KILDA ONCE AT OUR HOME GROUND THIS YEAR.

I know, I know, build a bridge. Just needed to whinge about it one more time.

Saw this in an Age article about Cloke in the vfl which also discussed young Tyler Roos;

"Carlton development coach Josh Fraser has labelled Tyler Roos, the son of Melbourne coach Paul Roos, as an "emerging young player". Roos, a VFL-listed Blue, made his debut for the Blues on Saturday against the Pies as he looks to make his way into the AFL ranks.

"He's still evolving and developing as a young player," Fraser said. "He showed a willingness last week to be able to work from contest to contest, he finds the ball and uses the ball really well, he's got some outside run and he's only going to get better and better," he said.'

Good rap for the young man.  Great thay his debut game went well.  He may yet mske it yo an AFL list.

Its a shame his father couldn't be at his debut as he was coaching us.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
