Yep Browny was very, very supportive of Bugg last night, even though apparently the two had a nasty onfield run-in at some point in the last few years.

The jist of it was that for the best part of a decade we, as a club, have bent over and taken it. We've been soft, we've been weak. We're now standing up for ourselves (and then some, with Bugg) and he wants to see more of it.

For that matter, so do I. Let Bugg be the most hated pest in the League if that's how he enjoys playing. Judging by Sunday night, it gets under the opposition's skin and if it takes their mind out of the game for even a second then it's doing the trick!

One of the best games I can remember. Schwarz tucked it under the huge paw at the end of the right arm,  raised it high,strolled into the goal square and banged it through. The Carlton fans were ropable. 

And it was Schwarz who laid the shepherd in the forward pocket at the end of that game to allow a skinny Cameron Bruce to waltz in and kick the sealer.   Oh joy !!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute dribble from the media. One minute Luke Darcy and Wayne Carey are letting Rance off because he is frustrated, then the media are giving Bugg a spray for just showing a bit of niggle and aggression.

We've been missing that for the past 5 years so as a Melbourne member I'm stoked to see a big of aggression from the guys.

It's a pity they aren't more p1$sed off about it. After all, that's his intent. The guy you try so hard to nail because he infuriates you that without realising, you're trying too hard.

The media are having to re-frame their opinions. They prefer to stick up for the perceived "better" team. By their conventional thinking, MFC, the weaker team, are in the wrong because one of our players showed a bit of ****.

That's how Rance can be simply "frustrated". That's how Luke Hodge can nearly paralyse a bloke by shoving him into the goal post, but no probs, no harm done. He's a champion, you see.

I look forward to seeing more of the media wet themselves trying to work out what they should be saying and writing about the rising Demons.

I love that Jono Brown loved it, even though Bugg once "knocked his block off," - I'd love to see the incident he's referring to. 

The media v the fan reactions this week have been mind boggling. I've read and watched it all as I do after a win. 

On Facebook and Big Footy the mutual fans condemning Rance, every name under the sun thrown at him, and barely a single Watts joke amongst it. The media however have done everything they can to play it down with the exception of a few. What's going on here?

In the match day thread on Big Footy I was genuinely surprised by the love for Bugg from the mutual fan, they agreed he was a [censored], and most of them loved it. I know Melbourne beating Richmond was working in his favour, but it was fun to read. 

 

My my thoughts on Bugg, if that goal was kicked in that manner against us I would lose my [censored] completely. But he's one of us and I wasn't a massive fan until Sunday night, I loved it all. Keep it up. Plus side is if he does cross the line, skill wise he's replaceable for a week or two.

Let's get real here......Barrett & Lloyd made comments about Buggs arrogance.  I love it!!! Good on you Tommy Bugg and it's about time the MFC stopped eating poo and stood up for ourselves.  All power to Tomy Bugg and the MFC.  Any supporters of the MFC who are not on board with our new brand, spirit, and fight are living in the past.  As for Barrett and Lloyd, they belong to a group including Dwayne Dwabbit who take every opportunity to look for negatives on the MFC.  They can all go and get rooted, because we are coming, and Tommy Bugg is part of it.

[censored] I love how much of a [censored] this lad is. Compliments the grunt of our midfield perfectly and gives us such an edge.

Makes his mistakes forgivable too, because he makes up for it by taking opposition eyeballs off their game.

I tend to agree with him. It's arrogance when it's not warranted. I remember David Schwarz doing the same thing once, in a game we ended up losing dreadfully.

Still, it was a little bit silly for Bugg to get into it. Maybe not as silly as it is for everyone else to get into him about it!

Some people have fun playing football. I'll only judge him when I've seen how he deals with games that aren't fun.

Why didn't any Richmond players even get a little bit stuck into Bugg after that goal? You see it after minor celebrations at times. 

We were 4 points up when he took off, pointed to the goals with someone half arsed chasing him, shooshed the crowd then walked around like a peacock grinning, winking and high-fiving. I wouldn't cop that. Geez they're [censored] weak.

same reason they didn't get stuck into jv when he ragdolled rancid twice. did you notice the disinterest of the two close-by feral players? they know that with jv a tb they'll get twice as much back

I did. To be fair though if I was in the vicinity of Viney throwing my mate around I'd pretend I was on the phone. 

The man is a pure genius of psychological warfare.

Bugg is a legend.

A bit like Bernie Vince's elbow I'd rather we cross the line every now and then than not be anywhere near it.

I'd leave injured players alone, wait til they come back on and get them then. 

And I wouldn't start a melee after kicking 2 quick goals and leading by 3 at 1/4 time. 

But hey, celebrate, get in to cheer squads, draw free kicks, stick up for young team mates, drag attention away from play. I'm all for that.

Bugg will be public enemy number 1 against the Saints. I'd give the instruction to him to try and get players off their game, especially good ones. And I'd probably go against the normal team philosophy and tell Viney, Jones and co to let Bugg do his thing a bit one out whilst we play the ball.
